Brand New User

Post by janicedon » Tue Jul 23, 2019 6:09 am

Good morning, As stated, I'm a brand new user of cpap (5 days) so far, so good. I found this forum & feel it will be very useful as I start this journey. My first 4 nights went well, but last night I put my machine on early & didn't fall asleep for a couple of hours. During this awake time, I felt the machine stopped delivering air, machine is set for "smart start". I've researched the user manuel, but I can't figure out why this happened. I had to press "start" several times to receive air. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TY

I assume you mean that the machine turned off. This could happen if there are large leaks when the unit thinks you took off your mask. The "off" is very sensitive and many people have had problems with it. My recommendation? Use the on/off button.

To exclusively use the Start/Stop button you need to go into the clinical setting and turn off SmartStart.
