Mouth Breathing

How will I know if I'm mouth breathing? Will it show up as a mask leak?

Either that or as a higher AHI. But why not get Oscar (see announcements top of main pg) and see a lot more info than just that.

Waking with a dry mouth.

Mouth breathing can show up as a leak but won't always show up as a large leak.

People can get dry mouth with or without mouth breathing....and people can get dry mouth with as little as 5 or 10 minutes of mouth breathing.

If we look at a leak graph...we have no way to distinguish between mouth opening leaks or mask movement leaks unless we know for sure the lips are sealed (taped).

Here's an example of known mouth breathing (I was awake) at the end of the night and it's a very minor leak.
I circled it in red.

Maybe I'll try the chin strap while I'm trying to figure out the whole Oscar thing and see if my AHI score improves. At the sleep lab, they made me wear the chin strap.
