How hot can a machine get and still work ok ?
My conversation on the other thread must have jinxed me.
My a/c just went out and the (bleep) home warranty place can't get a tech out here until Thursday. Its already 90 inside. Any ideas on just how hot our machines can be and still run correctly ?

It looks like the operating temperature is from 41F to 95F with a note about 104F. At 104F the unit remains safe so that may be a good upper limit to stay below.

That's why I have a 10,000 BTU window unit in the bedroom window, Central on the House. I keep the bedroom 65 degrees year around. Jim

Thank you ALL for the info about the machine limits. My husband got our portable a/c units going and it is finally cooling off a little. Battled it out with the home warranty people 1.5 hours on the phone and escalating it up the chain of command I am supposed to have someone out here tomorrow to fix it. (Keep your fingers crossed). We are under an excessive heat warning later this week, Arizona power companies are not allowed to turn off service because every year people die but the home warranty people felt it was ok for us to be without someone even looking at the unit until Thursday, I don't think so!!

I keep the house at 75 in the winter, but I close the bedroom door , turn the heat vents off, and if it about 40 outside I turn my room a/c on to keep at 65 in the room. I run hot, Nam broke my regulator.

Thank you for your service! I am so appreciative of those who went to Nam and kept the rest of us safe! You all did not get the credit you deserve !Goofproof wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 9:14 pmI keep the house at 75 in the winter, but I close the bedroom door , turn the heat vents off, and if it about 40 outside I turn my room a/c on to keep at 65 in the room. My thyroid is broken, which is why I don't do cold. I am thankful to be back in Arizona, even when my a/c conks out in the hottest part of summer. I will take heat over snow any day.
