I too have lost count around 15 or 20.
I seem to favor the Sleepweaver line. I have used all of them. I like the Wisp and Dream Wisp.
For full face I like F&P 431.
I still find masks in my collection I don't even remember.
One of my first masks was the No Mask, it had no headgear, just a mouthpiece and nasal pillows. It made my nostrils sore, so it had to go.
Someday I may find the perfect mask but I will not be holding my breath until then.

I gave up counting at about the 15 mark. After the first 8 or so, I was paying for the different masks out of pocket. I was SO glad when the Bleep finally came out! It solved so many problems for me! And after 16 months, I finally was able to get things working with my insurance/DME and I am getting the Bleep with insurance coverage, which is great because although I initially bought it myself, the ongoing costs can be pricey. I will say, however, that it did take many, MANY calls and emails to my DME, over a 2 month period, to get the Bleep. And there was some resistance from my insurance company. They have required "preauthorization" for the Bleep before each of the 2 shipments I have now received. Fortunately, my DME worked with me and handled it all.

dreamwear nasal, dreamwear pillow, (found I am not a good candidate for nasal masks), dreamwear full face with medium frame (leaked too much and made obnoxious mouth noises) , Resmed F20, Resmed Quattro Air, Resmed F30, (best at sealing, no leaks), but then went back to Dreamwear FF, but now use a small frame, & a chin strap (yes, I know it's FF and you're not supposed to need a chin strap, but that is the only way it won't leak). So I guess that's a total of 6 different masks or variations of the same mask. I prefer the dreamwear style of the hose on top of my head, so that's why I went back to Dreamwear FF and found out how to make it work for me. I will try at least one more if Resmed makes a new FF version to match the N30i or P30i. They will likely call it the F30i. After all this experimentation (and DME aggravation), Resmed masks seem to fit my face better than Phillips, but Phillips is the only manufacturer of a FF mask with the hose on the head, so that is what I have to stick to for now.
Don't be afraid to try as many as you need to find what is right for you. I'm not sure that there is such a thing as "the perfect mask". I think we all have to compromise a little bit.

The perfect mask is the one that works the best for you. I keep coming back to the F20, but I keep trying every new full face mask that looks interesting in the hope that it will be better than my F20.

Three so far:

ResMed AirFit, lasted about two weeks! I’m a side sleeper and was truly miserable.

Swift FX was next, and I lasted two years on this one.

During my annual checkup, my pulmonary doc suggested Dreamwear, and it has been my mask of choice for the past two years.

After reading other comments in this thread, I guess I was lucky.
