Airsense 10 AutoSet - self-test at power on

Post by Heapshooter » Fri Jul 05, 2019 8:24 am

Hi all,

I recently got the Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet and am a new CPAP user. And I am looking help with the following.

Is this machine executing a self-test at power on and signals any failures on the screen or only tech support is capable of detecting and fixing errors?
Is it possible to induce such a self-test without switching the machine off?

I am very sensitive to the exhaling resistance so I set the EPR to "Constant" and EPR level to "3" (i.e. maximum).
Prior to buying a new machine, I had a similar one for testing and under the above settings, I had no difficulty exhaling.
With the new one I feel the unwanted resistance what's very frustrating. Same make/same model.

So I suspect there may be something wrong with the machine - yet no error on the display at power up.
Tech support is gone for two weeks. I tried to google the answer to the above and sought the forum without success.
Maybe someone experienced with Airsense could help?

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Thanks!

There are other settings that you didn't mention that impact the feel.

Ramp, ramp pressure and your pressure settings.

While machines can and do malfunction. Given the likelihood of a (presumed new) machine malfunctioning or a new xPAP user having difficulty, almost always the machine is just fine.
