How to get OSCAR on my mac (Downloaded won’t open)

Hey sorry for silly question.
I’m hopeless with computers. I downloaded OSCAR for Mac but my Mac won’t open the downloaded. Comes up: ‘OSCAR’ can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

How do I open it and I guess is it safe?

This should work-

In the Finder, locate the app you want to open.

Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.

Control-click ( or right-click) the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.

Click Open.

You might also check your Prefs for security as you might unnecessarily be blocking sites. Macs just don't get malware unless something really bad has been directed at them/us and it's very rare.
