Show off!
Get off your high horse! Traveling (especially internationally) is one of the biggest challenges to CPAP users. My point is merely to warn everybody when I encounter a situation that might present difficulties for others.
Thanks for the tip.

And while we're on extension cord tips, you can apply the same great advice to mowing your lawn. I remember in my last place a single 100 foot chord couldn't reach the back left corner.

My solution, a second extension chord.

I KNOW! Pretty innovative thinking.

And remember when connecting cords, do a loose overhead knot so they don't fall apart.

If I was to follow all the recommendations I have heard about travel with CPAP, I would need to bring, an extra mask, extra cables, extra hose, extra machine, gallon of distilled water and 3 extension cords....I'm staying home!
Better bring two gallons, remember, always have a spare!

and your ridiculous 'solution' to daisy chain a bunch of little cords, which take up more space, and weigh more than a single longer cord. (three sets of ends vs 1 set).

Plus, the additional connections inevitably add to the overall resistance,
necessitating the use of heavier gauge wire--more luggage space, weight, etc.
It would be wiser to look/pay for better accommodations, with optimal outlet locations.

Nope, just bragging about his travels.
DITTO: We have a winner :!:

Note to D.H., if they let you out of this country, replace those 19 year old K-Mart Extension cords, Wal-Mart might even have them as cheap as Dollar General. Jim

Maybe even pay for a room inside of a building, don't sleep outside in the rain, running your XPAP on extension cords. Jim

Lol, you forgot to also include battery backup! I posted this several years ago:
kaiasgram wrote: I was a good little cpapper this past weekend, dragged my machine through the airport for a trip to the beautiful Oregon coast for my daughter's wedding. I remembered everything: machine, hose, mask, chinstrap, cpap wipes, power brick and cord, extension cord with power strip, copy of prescription and even (thank goodness) my little $16 power-out alarm.

In the middle of the night last night a BALLOON hit a nearby transformer and blew out power to the hotel I was in. No backup generator. I tried to sort of sleep sitting up, then tried to get into that Falcon position -- comical, really, and I can't figure out how anyone could possibly be comfortable sleeping like that! It was not a happy night -- I was just thankful that it happened on my last night there, after all the festivities. I'm glad to be climbing into my own bed tonight and hopefully the power will stay on all night.

BTW, the power-out alarm worked -- I woke up quick, even with my white noise app (iPad) playing right beside me.
So we should also lug those heavy battery backup packs in case one of those pesky balloons strikes

If I have to put them "just in case", I won't be able to travel, 'cause I only have bags. Will 3 extension cords fit in a bag? Thanks for helping. :)

Do they make usb adaptors for these things? Then you wouldn't even need a hotel room you could just sleep sitting up in the airport charging stations.

Yes this especially. More resistance, more points of failure, more chance to start a fire. Not that I've never had to do this, but I would never plan to do this.

I always travel with a 5 gallon water cooler bottle just in case. And a car battery with jumper cables. No need to plug into the wall at all!

I always travel with a 10-gallon hat and a whole-house generator.

Thanks D.H.
You inspired me to run a cord to set up at my recliner when I nap.

In all seriousness... I always travel with one 10 foot "on average" extension cord in my cpap bag. I also will have one of these in my suit case.

https://www.amazon.com/TESSAN-Portable- ... 31&sr=1-13

For most rooms this is fine, gets me ports for my phone and other accessories and a place to plug in my machine.

If you wanted something lighter and smaller... I also carry one of these in my carry on.

https://www.amazon.com/Globe-Electric-P ... XQHKS&th=1

Both of the cords I linked have built in USB ports and are 3 prong so they're grounded.

I guess I sometimes travel with 2 or 3 or even 4 cords, though I seldom need to break out more then 1 or 2. I carry a lot of electronic crap, chargers for my camera batteries and other electronics so it's not just that I want a really long cord for my CPAP, I just have a lot of "Shtuff" to plug in.

I've only had a few issues were staying at friend's places, were we wound up on an inflatable bed in the middle of the floor - were I had to get creative and run multiple cords together. Me and my wife like to travel on road trips to spend time with online friends we game with, we sometimes will get together a few times a year, when you have 20+ people sleeping over in a large town house, you need to be prepared to think worse case scenario and bring more then you really need. But this is not the norm. Almost any normal hotel I've ever stayed in, even over seas - if you had a decent extension cord maybe 2 you'd be 100% fine. If your willing to unplug something or move a nightstand to get to an outlet your almost always going to be good to go with something simple.

For fun, Keep thinking out side the box... :P

Rest well,

Gryphon
