teach,

Don't use athletic tape. That would hurt. Find gentle paper tape in the pharmacy. I like the 3m (nextcare) one others like the Johnson and Johnson.

If you use some chapstick in the evening then put the tape on later when it has worn down, and chapstick (or other such stuff) after you peel the tape off in the morning it isn't bad at all.

I really don't have a picture, nor do I want one, sorry, I am not one of those brave souls. But if you just take the ace bandage up over your head, about on the ears, and over the crown of your head, down the other ear or just in front of the ears, and under the point of the chin.... Keep going until it is used up and fasten (metal clip that they come with or velcro or whatever, in a pinch your lip tape if you drop the clip. That is it. Find your own tightness. I do not wrap tightly at all. Keeps the blowfish cheeks down as well as supporting your chin.

I have found this almost works for me (still have aerophagia), is easy to put on, holds the headgear in place, and easily can be adjusted for how tight it fits.

I would think this works similarly to an Ace bandage.

I use it more split between 1/2 under my chin and 1/2 on the chin - almost right up to my bottom lip
