Since last year Oct '18 , when I started on my CPAP, I have had trouble with my throat. I use humidity at a level 5. my throat always tickles or is sore. I like to sing and really struggling with it since I started my CPAP use. was diagnosed with GERD during this and am wondering if CPAP use causes GERD?
ANy suggestions?

OSA causes GERD. Cpap causes nothing (but a very little bit of air). If you have issues with your humidity setting, try different ones... some people use it year round, I never use it at all... where you live can matter, as can proximity to water, etc. It's not 'therapy', just a comfort thing.

im not sure what is causing my symptoms. I just know they started with i started using the CPAP...... I love it other than this agitation since Oct 2018.

You do have to experiment with different settings, do something for the GERD (I just take half a Tums before bed), but you need to try stuff... one at a time so you'll know what's effective (and not). Throwing up your hands saying you don't know what's wrong won't help and you won't get permission to quit from anyone here, not without actually trying to fix things. The GERD should get better once everything else is in place and working well - it's likely what's causing your throat problems.

Do you mouth breath? It does not take much to really dry the throat out.
Just a thought.
