Airsense 10 battery advice

Post by blaze2310 » Sun Jun 09, 2019 5:08 am

Hi all, sorry if this is a repost but I'm a bit of a newb here. I have the resmed invertor/convertor to allow me to attach a battery. I have a battery which cost me a fortune a few years ago. It's hardly been used but seems to now last only a couple of hours. I don't have the money to splash out on the £300+ resmed battery. I assume there have been advances in the 7 or 8 years since I bought mine. It's mainly for camping and only needs to last a night or two. Does anyone know of a decent, low price battery that would be suitable for me? Thanks in advance.

Its not surprising that an 8 year old battery doesn't hold a charge - they do have a finite lifetime. This is one reason why I don't often recommend expensive batteries unless they are providing a significant benefit.

If by "camping" you mean car camping, where you're not carrying gear more than 50 yards from the car, the most "bang for the buck" is an AGM lead acid battery. These are commonly used in mobility scooters, UPS power supplies and are perfectly safe for use in the house. In the states a "U1" cost $65; on the UK Amazon site I saw £65 to £100. These weigh 24 lbs, and provide 35 amp-hours of 12V power. This would cover several nights without humidity.

Full details of the setup can be found in the thread listed in my signature - about 10 posts down is the parts list.
