I put the card in my old computer with the lock tab in place and had no issues, so the lock must be working. I think the problem as someone noted is that some readers ignore the Lock. I copied most of this file and will email it to my son and have him look at it. Thanks for your help.

  1. Set the lock on an SD Card
  2. Place it into the SD Card reader that you suspect doesn't honour the write protect tab
  3. Try to deliberately save a file
If you can, you know its the card reader. If you can't, you know it's something else.

Hello,

New Oscar user here (Used to use Sleepy head before). Have an S9

I've restarted using my cpap after 5 years. Had windows 7 at the time- no problems with the SD card then.

Had my first use last night. Popped the SD card into my Windows 10 laptop. Uploaded data (last night and the older 2014 stuff) without issue into Oscar, Placing the SD card back into the S9..."invalid"...D'oh, shouldve locked the card!

No problem- read more forum threads. Pop card back into laptop. Dont see a "open command line" when right clicking the drive but do see "open powershell" : Copy paste rmdir word for word....powershell doesnt work

Open up a seperate command prompt in admin mode- navigate to the SD card drive (G: in my case) and then copy/paste rmdir

It shows a blank then goes back to G:....I assume the files have been deleted and its worked.

Unfortunately, placing the card back into the S9 still shows "invalid". Any ideas? I'd rather not format it as I have to take the machine back to the doc. Typing rmdir for G: this time only says "system cannot find the file specified". The rest of the SD card seems untarnished and can be read by the laptop as before.

Sorry....I never did that little script trick on Windows 10....just Windows 8 and 8.1.

You can erase just the card though and while you lose the detailed data stuff...when you put it back into the S9 the S9 will write back to the SD card all the old summary data.
So it isn't all lost. Enough of it that the doctor can see what he normally sees anyway. They rarely will look at the old graphs...heck they mostly just look at hours of use and the AHI...which is part of the summary numbers.

Either that or just go buy a new SD card and use it and keep the old one for giving to the doctor.

Thanks Pugsy, my fault for not reading the warning mentioned clearly at the bottom when you start OSCAR. I'm one of those guys who immediately trashes the instructions after bringing home a 200 part Ikea disassembled dresser.

In regards to the timing, I see that they are off by several hours for last nights reading. I'm assuming its the S9 somehow not orienting itself to the correct time after being off for several years. Would there be a way to fix this?

There is a clock on the S9 that you can check to see if it is set at the correct time.
I forget exactly where but you have to go into the clinical menu setup area to make the change.
Might also check calendar date as well.

I think its found when you click on the little wrench thing bottom left of the menu.
