EYE PROBLEM FROM MASK ?

I have been on cpap for 10 days APAP - Mirage full face mask.
In the mornings my eyes are goopy and my right corner of my eye is getting dry and red. What can I do to stop this ?

Please advise...

Could be air is leaking from the mask and blowing in your eyes. Make sure you have no leaks. Air could also come from the tear ducts. Read this;

Bluetocker,
This is because the air leaks are blowing into your eyes. I struggled with this with every FF mask until I got the Hybrid (http://www.hybridmask.com). With the Hybrid, there are no air leaks near the eyes, so nothing dries the eyes.

I also had a similar problem, for at least 3 days straight, but don't know if my Activa mask was 'upset' or I was getting a cold.

The corners of my eyes were red and swollen, and VERY itchy.
Luckily, it didn't last.
I hope your problem can be solved! It's not fun, and doesn't add a thing to getting good cpap therapy.

I'm no Doctor, so I don't know specific names, but I believe there are two tiny ducts in the roof of your mouth that go up to the inside corners of your eyes. By the time we are adults, most of us have clogged ducts. But some people still have clear openings and air can go from the mouth to the eyes. My brother can close his mouth and do the old "blowfish" look and you can actually hear his eyes squeel!!!!! So it could possibly be that is your problem. I notice air gurgling under my eyelids on some nights while using my CPAP machine. (guess I'm only partially clogged) Maybe one of the Doctors on the forum could comment on this.

I had the same problems with my UMFF - went to a local DME and she had me lay down and put the mask on with CPAP running and turn my head side to side to check for leaks. She also adjusted the forehead pad - it has about four positions. I was at the office for around 1 and half hours trying on different masks. Eventually she changed me from a Small Standard to the Small Shallow. No more leaks.

Hope you get your mask issues settled.

I just wish one of the Doctors on the forum would respond to my statement. I'd like to know more about it, personally. I don't want to be making untrue statements here on the forum.
