There is a known issue with the Auto off part of SmartStart not working so great at lower pressures with some nasal pillow masks.
I have heard of one other person using a full face mask and having same issues.
It's so common with the nasal pillow masks it is even mentioned in the manual but they say 7 or below in pressures.
When I was using the P10 nasal pillow mask...it wouldn't work correctly even when I tried it at 10 cm....so go figure that one.
Auto on part...worked great but the auto off part didn't work so great.
Why with a full face mask....dunno... but you might try an experiment just to see what happens...if you are using EPR...turn it off briefly and use the machine briefly to start it and then take the mask off...with EPR off...and see if it shuts down as it should.
I use EPR myself and the drop during exhale might be a factor...I never thought to try it with EPR off...just now thought about it.
There really is nothing you can do other than......
1...manually push the button to turn it off (then it goes into the cool down low level blowing)
2...unhook the mask from the long hose and if you do that then it should shut off after about 5 or 10 seconds and then go to the cool down mode.
The machine is having trouble distinguishing the difference in resistance between when a human is attached and when the human isn't attached. I think (no proof just my thoughts) that at lower pressures and the inherent resistance in some of these masks also being low that the machine just doesn't know the human is no longer attached because the mask itself is still offering enough resistance.
I just learned to push the button when I was using the P10....but now that I am not using the P10 and I am using the Bleep the Auto Off part works like it is supposed to even though the pressures I am using are exactly the same as what I used with the P10.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
