I decided to add my two cents to the idiot and asked him to contact Avast or Norton to get a proper definition of hacking. 8)
Yeah, I felt like I needed to add my opinion too. Like it's going to make a difference.

At least his position is being challenged.

Yeah I jumped in too. Doubt it will make a difference to the supposedly educated know it all jerk.

Had to add my thoughts, his position is definitely challenged. Ugh, and to think that this guy gets to write this drivel on psychologytoday.com. It's ironic that this guy wants people to be less treated...ironic...or genius? I'll let you all decide.

Edit: Oh, this is too rich. This line was added to the bottom:
It was a great article since it caused a reaction, which is what great journalism often does. I applaud the writer for shining a spotlight on the topic, and I am happy to add some education to the conversation.
So Doc, are you a pseudo doctor or a journalist? Make up your mind.

It's amusing to me, and possibly telling, that the original article referenced a lot of things about apneaboard, but "dr" doofus zeroed in on cpaptalk... hmm.

I guess he will be pushing the virtues of Soclean next. Four years ago when I began this journey, I had an initial sleep study, a titration study, was given a brick, and never heard anything from the pulmonologist since. I found a new Dreamstation Auto and tried various masks and adjustments, following advice given on this forum. My insurance has a $7000 deductible and until that is met does not cover CPAP supplies. I was fortunate at the time to have had insurance that somewhat covered the sleep studies. My primary doctor and cardiologist have been supportive of the fact that I can bring them a printout from Sleepyhead, and now OSCAR, to prove what I'm doing has pretty much kept my AHI under 1 most nights. I consider that success. I've paid for my machines and supplies out of pocket. I don't appreciate someone putting an alarmist article out there. It's bad enough to watch the SoCLean commercials.

What saddens me the most is that this guy is certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine as an expert in sleep disorders (that’s the diplomate people have been referring to). He also teaches others in the field and consults with many industry leaders. He apparently has close ties with some sleep industry companies as well. If this is what is considered expertise by the industry and other doctors, we are all doomed if we don’t take an active role in our therapy.

Since he is a psychologist, you would think he would have more empathy and a better understanding of how we feel.

Added my 2 cents...literally everything I mentioned has happened to me in real life. Reality is the reason we post on here.

Wow, “David” sure is a piece of work. I’ve posted a reply to his nasty digs at the good people of this forum.
