We both had chicken pox as kids.
We got the shingles vaccine after the bullfrog suffered a painful bout of shingles on his shoulder/chest..
He had shingles AGAIN a year or so later.
Susceptibility might be hereditary--both of his parents had shingles within the last 5 years of their lives.
I sincerely believe that vaccine for chicken pox or shingles can eventually save your life--
or at least save you from one reason to WISH you were dead.

Eh, got the shingles in 2014, had the chicken pox when I was a child. My physician had to give me the vaccine because the health department nurse took an oath only to administer the vaccine to senior citizens per the manufacturer.
