Hpw does one "spoon" with a CPAP mask + hose?
Hpw does one "spoon" with a CPAP mask + hose?
Been on CPAP for a couple months now, and it's starting to get more "sleepover-y" with an old flame.
She loves to spoon, which I would normally easily oblige. Not sure how to deal with the mask and hose when at her place. No hosebuddy there, and I am not even sure that would help entirely.
Is this something that I can't do anymore, or have to remember to put the mask on as we "separate" (assuming I am awake)?
What am I supposed to do in these situations.
I am the "big spoon" about 85% of the time. This would be much easier if I was the little ("rocket ship") one

Re: Hpw does one "spoon" with a CPAP mask + hose?
I routinely route the hose laying on the mattress up and around the top of the bed pillow and then down to my face.
This would allow me to "spoon" easily with my husband and the hose be out of the way.
Only potential issue would be if the mask I was using had much venting going on that could blow directly on to my partner because I was so close...the vented air would be strong and potentially annoying.
So picture the machine being to my right if I am in bed laying on my back...to spoon I would have to turn on my left side...I route the hose on the mattress up and around the top of the bed pillow and it comes down to my face with just a little extra there for minor movements so as to not tug the mask with hose movement.

I would prefer to "spoon" with a member of the opposite sex and use the mask & hose while I sleep.

If you're the "Big Spoon" put the mask on her. If she refuses, throw the mask on the floor and try "Forking". It doesn't take long and then you can go back to the mask.
As the 98 year old man was told by his doctor. "If you keep sleeping with that 20 year old, it can cause death". The old man replied, "If she dies, she dies!

Great, I will try this, thanks! Fortunately, I have the Brevida, so diffused venting. Can't do any better than that (or the P10), I suppose!Pugsy wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 7:34 amI routinely route the hose laying on the mattress up and around the top of the bed pillow and then down to my face.

I will also vouch for the "Forking" suggestion!Dan_McD wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 10:41 amIf you're the "Big Spoon" put the mask on her. If she refuses, throw the mask on the floor and try "Forking". Hi ZoomZoom ~~~
Congrats on rekindling the old flame!
Sounds like the perfect time to try to add a Dreamwear mask to your routine.
They are designed for snuggling and spooning.
The vent may possibly bother your partner, (personally I love airflow on me but I know not everyone does) so in that event just add a little pillow (or two in case one falls on the floor during the night) in to the bedding mix to deflect the vent.
It's a great opportunity to add some beauty to the bed too! In the summer, little silky pillows feel good. In the winter there are cozier fabrics.
There are so many reasons to love the dreamwear mask ... but lightweight comfort and tangle-free spooning are at the top of the "best reasons to love" list.
Good Luck

It's simple enough. Hoseheads in front.

Is this a good time to mention that cpap is known to help with EDS issues?
Best wishes to those who have noticed (or hope to).

You can always fall asleep without the CPAP, snore enough to annoy her, and then sleep in your own comfy bed.

Oh, I tried the Dreamware for just a minute at the DME's office, but it was too loud (I heard all the whooshing sounds). I think she would like the noise of the vent (big fan of white noise), but not like the air flow. Might have to stick with diffused options, unfortunatelyGrace~~~ wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 10:09 amHi ZoomZoom ~~~

Maybe I'll just pick a spare and see how she likes it.
