I got eaten alive by the sharks & stopped posting for a long time. I was bullied as a child before technology so didn't have to deal with internet bullying at the time, but now I am finding that I don't appreciate being bullied by grown adults on the internet in forums that are designed to offer help. When responding to a post, please be KIND. It is okay to disagree on a subject, but it is NOT OKAY to bully someone just because you don't agree. Just state why you don't agree in a kind, professional manner.
Becca-
You are a breath of "fresh air"!!! I know there are many people who feel exactly like you do!!! - Some of them have spoken to me "off-the-record" and have said that the bullying that takes place on this forum should not be happening! - I'm sorry you had to get 'shark-attacked' by this "friendly group".
I've told the story before about getting bullied by someone every single day in junior high school until "I was forced to fight the bully". Let's just say that the bully missed about 3 days of school and never, ever bullied me again!

Bullies don't change unless someone makes them change!
Unfortunately, as long as the owner allows such practices, which have gone on for many years (the bullying that is), it will continue to be an integral part of this forum...
Glad to see you back on the forum Becca! Stay well!!!
I was taught by my pacifist parents never to start a fight, to walk -or run- away unless there was no means of escape, but if I ever was in a fight that I should finish it. I took their teachings to heart.
I was bullied endlessly until 9th grade when I stopped running. Literally running home every day.
I kicked the living snot out of the first guy. Some thought it was a fluke, that the other guy had slipped before I pounded his head into the pavement until a teacher came out to the parking lot and pulled me off.
The second guy "challenged me" to a fight "down at the bridge". After his wrist was broken and I was pounding his face, a highschool senior stopped the fight by sucker punching me.
I never had another fight in my life (and I'm pushing 60.) Both the other guys were suspended, I was not because I had tried to avoid the confrontations.
What they didn't know back in the 70s was I had been secretly boxing at the youth center, and I was savage and employed a strategy to "finish the fight" at the start and not trade blows.
...and you should know that with my birthday January and my father's 6'6" height, I was the oldest and biggest guy in the class. I am 6'3" and 350 pounds now, a bit imposing and I don't let anyone bully me any more, in any forum, and I don't give a flying fahoogie what any of you dicks believe is reality or an after school special. This IS the way it works in real life.
