Resmed Escape II Makes Loud Noise on Inhale
Resmed Escape II Makes Loud Noise on Inhale
I don't usually hear it over the constant air sound of the mask, but my wife is kept up by the sound the machine makes when I inhale, at the beginning of the night. It seems to calm down by the morning. Solutions? Do I need a new machine?
Re: Resmed Escape II Makes Loud Noise on Inhale
i'm answering mainly to bump your message up in hopes someone smarter than me can answer your question.
meanwhile-
how old is your machine?
if it's still under warranty, take it back where you got it and see what they say.
oh and welcome aboard!
good luck!!

Yes. the new machines are a huge improvement over what you have... which is several generations old now.

My S9 Autoset was getting a bit noisy before I replaced it.
Excess noise in machinery is often a prelude to complete breakdown.
Electronic faults usually make no noise--(but might make smoke at the time of failure.)
What are the total run hours on your machine?

As a few have stated, your machine is a few generations and several years old.
New models are quieter by design. I would consider the noise a warning sign its time for a new machine, and investigate getting a new one. Relegate your Escape II as a spare and this way you won't have to miss any therapy should it fail.

Escape was the bare bones model (almost no data)--push for a full data machine.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2019 11:45 amAs a few have stated, your machine is a few generations and several years old.

As you age, your need for some feedback may increase.
