RESMED S10 Apnea Machine Stuck Reservoir not releasing!?

Suddenly after 4 years of using the S10 Machine, I am having problems releasing the water reservoir lately. It gets stuck. I cleaned the plates carefully as I noticed like a small sticky area in the machine plate area where the contact is made with the reservoir and I cleaned well but the next day after use I also found a tiny spot and the reservoir was being stubborn to remove it.

In any event, I have now lubricated the area with non-grease silicon on both sides of the plate and dried it and cleaned well to see what happens going forward. I also noticed that the bottom of the S10 machine left a small wet spot in my furniture. Again I never had this happened over 4 years of using the machine so I am wondering if the machine is overheating and causing this problem to happen, etc.

If anyone has had a similar issue please share what causes the problem and how to troubleshoot and fix it.

The water tubs can and do develop leaks if you have not replaced it in a while get a new one
