I have a 18000mAh jump start battery with 12v 10amp outlet for laptop/phone. Will this run my dreamstation overnight without humidifier?
I have a 12v cord for car battery I need to modify. This cord has a fuse. Should I have a fuse in my new cord?
Thanks I’m advance for any advice.

One sure way to find out would be to try it. Jim

18000mah (which is really a 18ah battery, without the marketing wank... "OH, 18000 sounds bigger than 18")Jason70 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2019 11:59 pmI have a 18000mAh jump start battery with 12v 10amp outlet for laptop/phone. Will this run my dreamstation overnight without humidifier?

that 18ah is, even worse, at the nominal voltage of li-ion batteries. generally 3.6volts, which works out to 64.8 watthours.
Best as I remember, your average cpap at a modest pressure, no humidity, no heated hose is going to need some 80-90 watthours a night.
So, it's unlikely that thing will power your machine for the night.
And, yes, it's *always* good to have fuses in cords.

That 65 watt-hours is about 5 amp-hours at 12V, so it would depend on the pressure. I think at pressure 10 the load is about 4 amp-hours, so it might work. The other issue is that I thought Philips went to a propriety plug circuit like ResMed so the "official" plug, about $25 might be needed. And yes, any battery that can dump enough juice to start a car needs a fuse to protect the wiring against a short.palerider wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 2:08 pm18000mah (which is really a 18ah battery, without the marketing wank...
