Visit to sleep Dr. today

Post by Hurricane » Mon Feb 19, 2007 4:31 pm

Just as I expected, walked into office of my sleep Dr, also pulmonologist, who also is in charge of the sleep lab at local hospital, following sequence occured, first stop reception window sign in, take check out and make it for 50.00 dollars copay, sit down wait ten minutes my name called, Dr greets me, says follow me, sit down in one of many rooms, Asks me how are you doing, I tell him I'm 100% compliant, answers great thats one of the biggest problems people go thru, I tell him my only complaint is runny nose, says try turning off humidifier, need a refill for your prescription for runny nose? I said yes, gave me the presc. said good see you in 3 months. Never mind have your printouts from the Apap I talked him into prescript for me the last visit, oh well its great this forum provides us with so much info, and enables us to look into other ways or ideas to solve on going problems. Thankyou guys and gals.

Gidday Ed,

That's such a ripoff isn't it? I'm fortunate in that my sleep doc is very proactive and keen, but you're dead right about the forum, what a lifesaver - literally!

When I saw the ENT for my nose surgery he walked in and said, "what's the problem?" I said, "I have a deviated septum and want to get it fixed". He sat down and looked up my nose, said, "yelp, you do. when do you want to do it?" I said, "as soon as possible".

That was it. $134.40 for a stage III exam....

Great! From the moment he pulled the splints out of my nose I've been able to breathe freely. He did a good job.

I'm going to sleep easier, sleeping better, the APAP is working like it never did in the past, I'm just happy as a hog in slop about the results of my septoplasty. I'm not even getting any blood out of my nose when I do saline nasal rinses.
