DME - Go figure

Post by klm49 » Thu Mar 28, 2019 3:24 pm

After over 3 yrs with the same DME and having to call for supplies suddenly my DME decided to call and tell me I'm eligible for supplies next week and did I want any. Guess they need more money.

DME’s are not inherently bad. Your example seems like good customer service. If you do need need supplies, thank them for their concern and tell them you will call when the supplies are required. Where is there a problem?

I generally call mine first; but if I ask, (or space it off) they will happily remind me.
Good customer service to remind--bad to just randomly send whatever.
Also illegal if covered by Medicare.

3yrs. and they have never called me once, not even when they wouldn't fill my request.
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear:
"After over 3 yrs with the same DME and having to call for supplies suddenly my DME decided to call and tell me I'm eligible for supplies next week and did I want any."

I was shocked is all.

New management?
Maybe the new guys are actually on the ball.
Lousy managers are rarely replaced as often as needed--but it still can happen.
Maybe a good thing . . .
