End of week 1 - how are my numbers?

Post by JasonN » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:57 am

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and started on a REMStar Pro (w/ nose pillows) a week ago. I haven't invested in the software/card reader yet. In 2-3 weeks I'll be going back in to review my data with my doctor, but I was curious about what people thought about my numbers so far.

My pressure is 7.
My 7 day averages are:
leak: 33.9 L/min (this was ~31 a day or two ago)
AHI: 4.9 (this was ~6 a day or two ago).

AHI seems high to me (but seems to be coming down as my leak rate is going up?). Would that be addressed through higher pressure? (7 seems kinda low to me).

I had good REM sleep near the end of my sleep study (i.e. the night when they were determining the best pressure to use for me). I've been having better sleep now that I'm on the REMStar Pro, but I don't feel like I'm getting alot of REM sleep.

Thanks in advance

leak rate is fine, your AHI isn't all that bad but it could be lower. I would try bumping the pressure up by .5cm to 7.5cm and see if the AHI doesn't drop further.
