How reliable are your machines?

tarpatel, my old S8 lasted about 30000 hours over about 9 years. The start/stop switch malfunctioned. I ended up getting it turned on then unplugging and plugging it back in to turn it on and off.

I replaced the machine, but it still works...

I have a dataless 'brick' ResMed Escape CPAP from 2007 that still works -- great hose dryer.
I bought a ResMed S8 APAP in late 2009 that still works. I bought an S9 APAP and ResMed replaced it under warranty as it developed a mold problem . Then, I bought a hideously pink S9 APAP on sale. Took these three into sleep doc appt last week (haven't seen him since 2012) and all are producing right pressure. Asked if there was any advantage to upgrading given my annual AHI has been 0.1 for years, doc said "no reason" and if I needed a new machine or wasn't self-pay, we have to do the while shenanigans of why I need OSA treatment. I'm good with staying with my S8 and S9s

I have three ResMed S9 Elites... one in the northern house, one in the FL house, and one that stays in the case for the trips that don't involve one home or the other. The travel one gets used the least... maybe I'll try to rotate them somehow to even the usage.
