New Resmed autoset 10 humidifier not working
I just bought a brand new resmed autoset 10. The problem is my humidifier doesn't seem to be working and the air is quite cool, even at max humidity and max tube temp. I tested and put my mask on for about an hour. However, the machine itself gives the heating icon when in use and gave me the smiley face next to the humidifier after I used it for a bit and the water in the tank is decreasing.I have the climateair heated resmed tubing and the mask I'm using is the airfit f30. My ramp setting is also set to auto, does the pressure determine how cool or hot the air is I receive? I ask because a cpap machine I trialed had warm air fairly quickly.

The humidifier and heated hose aren't about giving you warm air. They're about giving you moister air, so that your sinuses will be happier. Some people like added humidity, some don't.Lokio wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2019 6:22 pmI just bought a brand new resmed autoset 10. The tube heat is just enough to keep water from condensing on the inside of the tube.
The fact that it's using water seems to indicate that the humidifier is working.

Re: New Resmed autoset 10 humidifier not working
When I first starting using a humidifier on my Resmed S9, I could feel the tube warming up when I first turned the machine on, then it would cool down. That was in winter, when the room temp was low and I would pull the tube under the covers, next to my body. More recently, it seemed like that noticeable warm-up stopped happening, but because the water level fell each night, I knew it was still working. However, I did encounter the occasional rain-out problem, so I suspect something had changed.
If your machine is using water, then the humidifier is working, at least to some degree. The humid air thus produced will either travel to your mask or condense inside the tube. If the latter is happening (usually because the hose isn't being heated adequately) you will get noticeable rain-out.
I have come to the conclusion that, being an almost night-long mouth breather, even a humidifier can't totally prevent some dryness, but on the odd occasion when I forgot to fill the reservoir, I suffered dry mouth like you wouldn't believe
I'm still trying to figure out why my new Devilbiss machine, which has a humidifier but no heated tube, doesn't suffer rain-out. But winter approaches ...

The picture in your profile is the Airstart 10...are you sure that is what you have? I don't think the Airstart uses a heated tube.

If the water chamber is empty or near in the morning then it is working. If still full, you may have an issue.
