It was amazing to dream again. It’s like what America will feel in a few years when we’re all allowed to dream again
What is that supposed to mean. Had to throw something political in I guess. Detracts from the message (for me). Otherwise Rave on.

I think I will go buy something from CPAP.com, our wonderful sponsor. Yeh.

Re: Time for a pinup!
Penn Gillette wrote that since he's lost over 100 lbs, the docs say he may not need the CPAP machine anymore.
Is that realistic? Do some people have sleep apnea because of being overweight (thick neck, etc.) and if they lose the weight they no longer need CPAP?
Overweight is not my problem. My 3 brothers also have sleep apnea, none of them are overweight either, when I asked my sleep doc about it, if it was hereditary, he said we all apparently have the same anatomy that causes the apnea, not unusual in a family.

"Sleep, that knits up the raveled sleave of care"
Out of curiosity, I did a bit of reading, and no--sleave is not a sleeve.
Turns out, it is an archaic term, loosely referring to a skein of yarn,
probably as it comes off the spinning wheel.
Since Penn is one of my favorites, I believe he would appreciate my nit-picking.

The old view is that only old fat men have sleep apnea...Chris8243 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:41 pmPenn Gillette wrote that since he's lost over 100 lbs, the docs say he may not need the CPAP machine anymore.

The OLD view.
Oh, and we've had quite a few people report that when they lost weight, their pressure needs actually increased.

"I love the continuous positive airway groove." Well, that's what it's all about.

Re: Time for a pinup!
If your sleep apnea issue is primarily the obstructive "flavor", then I think the effects of weight gain/loss for sleep apnea can vary from person to person and it is likely not a reliable cause/cure for OSA. Weight gain, depending on how your particular body stores fat, may aggravate OSA and weight loss may help to one extent or another (or not at all). It could vary from person to person. Regardless of impact to OSA, losing excess weight is not a bad idea at all and is something you can do to help improve overall health. If it also happens to help your particular sleep apnea issues, oh happy day!
What I think would really help, at least for me, is if Jack LaLanne could come back and show us some magical exercises that restore muscle tone to the muscles supporting the airway (no polyester jumpsuit required, though you might need a chair).

That's great. Penn has heavy libertarian leanings. I'm sure Johnny Goodman loves him.palerider wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2019 8:49 pmhttps://blog.withings.com/2019/03/14/pe ... sure-love/
Discuss.
What are you going to dream about? That the current record low unemployment will soar? That the high-flying stock market will plummet? That the bureaucracy will again be cranking out freedom-robbing regulations? That North Korea will start shooting missiles again? That the $90-trillion Green New Deal will destroy the economy and individual freedom? That infanticide will be legalized?
Re: Time for a pinup!
It is unfortunate that the opposition party has painted themselves into the corner of having to (generally speaking) knee-jerk the polar-opposite of whatever the other side is "for". Once upon a time, we could all agree on common goals, even if we differed greatly on how best to achieve them. Today it seems we can't even agree on the most basic things.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 6:46 amWhat are you going to dream about? That the current record low unemployment will soar? And now everything's rabidly political and there's no more "reasoned" debate. All disagreements are "hate speech", worthy of a physically violent response by masked mobs of rioters. Bleh...
I can definitely agree with Jillette on one thing - we all need more naps.

You'd think somebody so adept at deception and misdirection could have been a little more subtle about Withings endorsement.

I did not wrote: that. I quoted Penn and then said : what is that all about, ect. I agree with you. Oh to be so misunderstood. It has been my burden all my life.
