I just put socks on my hands at night for the first few weeks. That kept me from tearing off my mask while asleep. Worst case, you can wake up and give yourself a puppet show :D

i like you're attitude!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

It's very normal to have vivid dreams, because you are now getting rem sleep. it will settle down.
This is factually inaccurate.

It is NOT normal to have vivid dreams unless one's sleep is disturbed. Also, one can dream in any sleep stage, not just REM.
Although not life threatening this time. Again what you say is inconsistent with what is known and is easily available by googling : cpap vivid dream

I don't care what you think you know.

As usual, your understanding of the subject is superficial, and incorrect.

The brain doesn't form memories while asleep, thus, the only time you remember dreams is when your sleep is disturbed.

A suggestion to google didn't work, perhaps a link will?

Vivid dreams common in REM rebound
DR. ROBERT ROSENBERG Sleep Well Oct 17, 2010

DEAR DR. ROSENBERG: I started Continuous Positive Airway Pressure treatment for my sleep apnea. Before using CPAP, I had no recollection of dreams. Now, I am not only dreaming, but they are very vivid. Should I be concerned?

A: No, on the contrary this is a good sign. What you are experiencing is called REM rebound. Basically, because of your sleep apnea your REM or dream sleep was fragmented. In fact, in some patients we find on initial study that they have almost no dream sleep. Once CPAP is applied and breath holding ceases, they have uninterrupted REM or dream sleep. For the first month or so, REM sleep may be markedly increased. So the fact that you are now dreaming is indeed a good sign.

Use a chin strap, headband or anything else to make it harder to take the mask off. The suggested Micropore is also a good idea if needed. You also need a full face mask for when you have a cold. They are harder to take off and easier to make it harder to take off. I have a f20 off ebay with silicon seal, the foams won't last long enough, Sizing charts are available on net. The aussie retail suppliers will charge megabucks, as you have probably found out.
Download sleepyhead from apneaboard and get some charts up. To see if there are other issues.

"rem rebound" sure, it's a thing, vivid dreams, sure, those are a thing.

REMEMBERING them means that your sleep isn't good.

How often is it that someone newly put on cpap is getting good sleep because the machine is adjusted properly?

Seldom. ergo, disturbed sleep, and *remembering dreams*.

This isn't a big deal, it's just another example of the trouble with you and pugs, you both think you are always right and know far more than you do. You are both good at helping new users adjust their apap, Move outside of this into bpap PS Ti trigger rise time and cycle etc and the wheels fall off.

Hmmm.....me thinks you need to be looking in the mirror with your statement about "thinking always right".
Pot calling the kettle black I am thinking.

I do know my limitations...you sir do not and that's the scary part.
