Last week, I started to get acid reflux as I expelled the extra air that was making its way into my stomach when my APAP hit 20cm of pressure.
I knew I would be out of town over the weekend, and decided that my regular bedtime set up was going to be too inconvenient to pack into my small compact car. (APAP, Distilled water jug, hoses, mask, cervical collar, Wedge pillow, additional foam to raise head to wedge height, pillow, additional pillow, mask cleaning equipment)
I decided that two nights PAP free would probably not kill me.
Oh my goodness - It was blissful!
I did not wake at all during the night - not to adjust for leaks, to itch under my mask, to itch under the cervical collar, or to shift the excess air, or because my hubby elbowed me so that I was not blowing a vent gale over him, nor because I had acid reflux.
I generally sleep peacefully through hypopneas, reras and apneas.
I have a sleep test in one week, which is to see if a maximum of 20cm of pressure is insufficient to control my OSA.
My question is this:-
I know that the side effects of CPAP treatment are keeping me awake. Should I use my PAP this week or not?
To PAP or not to PAP......that is the question.

Is there a reason you don't use Sleepyhead - which can easily tell whether your OSA is controlled on Apap - and skip the MD's visit?
PS - you shouldn't need distilled water for short trips at all... any water fit to drink (e.g. tap) is fine, it's just that after a long time (e.g. wks, mos.) you can get mineral crud build up in the tank, so would need to clean it out then.

Seriously? you've never heard of data, or sleepyhead?
Unfortunately, OP decided to ignore the "keep your questions in one thread" suggestion.
