KC's sleep study and therapy
Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Hello everyone! Haven't been on the forum for a long a time, so here is just a short update: I am doing great with my apnea treatment, AHI is most of the time under 1, I sleep well and wake up rested in the morning. I was very happy with the Swift FX Nano mask, tried also the Airfit N30i and liked it too.
I am looking to buy some replacement parts for my Swift FX Nano (cushions and headgears) and found that it is more convenient to buy them from the US (I live in EU). I was about to order them on cpap.com when I read that Per manufacturer policies, we do not ship ResMed or Philips Respironics products internationally.
I am not sure if this rule applies to replacement parts too. I asked them by e-mail, no reply. The contact form is not working. Please, does anyone here know if cpap.com ships internationally ResMed replacement parts?
Thank you!

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Nothing Resmed can be sent out of the US. What you might do if you know people, is get them shipped to those people who can then send them to you, but that may be all you can do.
Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Thanks for your reply, Julie!
Unfortunately I do not know (well enough) someone in the US to ask them such a favor.
Is this restriction only on cpap.com? Can anyone, please, recommend other reliable web shops that ship ResMed to Europe? Thanks!

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
The shipping restriction pretty much applies to all online retail sellers like cpap.com unfortunately.
Have you checked Amazon and EBay? Some of those 3rd party sellers will ship outside the US and they won't be under that restriction.

Pugsy, thank you for your reply.
I've found an online seller that ships to Europe - they confirmed in a live chat. I hope all goes well and I get the needed replacement parts.

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
I have done loads of research on the ResMed Swift FX Nano Mask. The PT I see refuses to get it for me, saying it is an old mask choice and not any good. I still want it and have found it for 120.00.
What about it do you like? Any issues with the fit?
I have the Resmed airfit N20 and hate the fit a I am a side sleeper.

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
You can try different masks at Cpap.com (forum's sponsor) for a few weeks and return them with no problem... but I'd call first to be sure of exact terms... they're very good about things and very helpful.
How any mask fits someone else is not much good for you considering every face is different

And opinions by a non-cpap wearing person are worthless.
Especially when they would prefer to sell you something that's gathering dust,
rather than ordering something that might work for you.

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Can someone explain me, please, why there are so many interruptions in the graphic below? It looks like the machine stopped working for several times during the night. I am sure I haven't turned it off/on. All the graphs from last month look similar and I have no idea why. Is it something wrong with my machine?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
How many sessions is it showing on the left side down below the machine settings?
Is SmartStart on or off?

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Were any of those turn offs done by you at all ?
Like the 03:00 to 03:30???
I don't know what the problem is but there is obviously a problem.
Can't blame it on leaks...your leaks are minimal...can't blame it on SmartStart sensor thing since SmartStart is off.
Could it be a problem writing to the SD card??? Maybe. Could it be a problem with the SD card itself??? Maybe.
Could it be a problem simply with the machine's internal software system??? Maybe.
Is this a sign that your machine is ailing??? Maybe.
I think I would start with easy troubleshooting first if possible. If you have another SD card handy...try a different SD card.
If you have a new mask...try a new mask. Someone reported a while back that they were getting weird looking reports and ended up blaming on the mask...though their problems didn't look exactly like your problem and I never saw confirmation that the mask resolved the problem other than the person said it did. I never could figure out what the mask might be doing that might have caused his problem but with this stuff you never know.
I don't think it is OSCAR related as a software issue with OSCAR but again...nothing is impossible I suppose.
If you had ResScan you could verify by using ResScan to see if the gaps are present in ResScan as well.
I gotta think on this more. I think I will notify BlueDragon to see if he has any ideas as well.

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
One question I forgot..
Have you tried the old reboot to clear out the cobwebs thing?
Meaning have you tried unplugging the machine from the electric outlet of a couple of minutes and then plugging back in and forcing a reboot of the internal software?

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Pugsy has the right trouble-shooting steps:
Try unplugging the CPAP for a while then back on.
Try a new SD card.
Hose and mask? I don't think they could cause this problem but certainly ok to try changing them.
My optimistic first guess is that it is the SD card; my pessimistic guess is that it is the SD card slot in the CPAP machine or other internal problem.
If you have taken the SD card out of the machine a lot to load data into OSCAR, the contacts could be dirty or worn. I've not tried to clean a SD card slot.
I could look at your SD card data but am pretty sure I would see the same thing you are. That was the case when I saw something like this before.

Re: KC's sleep study and therapy
Pugsy and BlueDragon, thank you very much for your replies and suggestions.
Reboot does not seem to work, I have done it when I replaced the power extension cord which I suspected it might be damaged.
I will try to replace the SD card. Sorry for asking maybe a silly question: do I need to "prepare" the card somehow? Format it FAT32, maybe copy the data from the old card to it?
Last night there were "only" 20 sessions. The interruptions sum to more that one hour and a half. I wonder if, during these interruptions, the machine is still working but does not record to SD card, or is it not working at all?
Later edit: I have found how to start using a new SD card here. The question that remains is: can I copy the data from the old card to not lose 2 years of usage statistics?
