Help verifying motherboard model of s9

Post by ravenous28 » Thu Feb 14, 2019 6:58 pm

Can anyone help to verify what motherboard this is of the s9 series? The the seller says it’s an s9 autoset but the buyer “me” sees no option for that under the advanced settings to turn it on, only cpap mode. My older backup s9 elite knob busted off the main board so I figured I’d buy this mainboard as a backup. Works fine except there’s no auto. The chances you take buying stuff on eBay...unless there’s something I’m missing or some special way to upgrade the firmware.thanks anyone for the help

All the mainboards are the same ... the only difference is the firmware loaded into the rom.

If you go into the clinician's menu and don't find auto ... then it is not an auto

go back to ebay and enter a "not as advertised " ... and see if ebay will help you
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!

Get the Clinicians manual here : http://apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-press ... tup-manual

It's an S9 board, they're all *physically* the same, whether Elite, Escape, Autoset Vauto or VPAP Tx lab system.

The only difference is firmware.

I've never heard of firmware being out in the wild.

Ok, Figures. I’ll see what I can do. Is it possible to flash your own firmware on these things somehow? I do it all the time with computer motherboards etc...

I have a feeling that ResMed has their firmware software so well protected that Fort Knox would be easier to knock off.
I have never heard of anyone doing it...doesn't mean it hasn't been done but I sure haven't heard of it.

There was a fella in the chat room several years ago that was going to try ... he never said he succeeded

I’m not going to be do it. If someone worked as a disgruntled computer technician for resmed and had access to the files and leaked them, then I’m sure there’s a way and I’m also sure they would get thrown I jail for it too. I’m sure flashing is as simple as anything else, it’s just been on lockdown and nothing’s ever been leaked or it could be that no one really cares enough to go through the hassle and try to do it. Everything is jail breakable today but most people wouldn’t want to do that to a device that’s meant to keep them alive at night.

I know you can alter the settings via USB (there's a usb adapter for the data port on the back) maybe with the right software, you change the identity... who knows.

If you'd gotten really lucky, you might have gotten the board out of a Lumis Tx.... it does *all* the modes of operation. :D

There is one difference in the circuit board but it has to do with age and different pressure sensors.

The only thing different from this board was the color was red and it has a different chip on the sensor that said sensor 1a instead of sensor 1. The plastic part was a tiny bit longer that causes the front of the board to sit a little higher then the original and the little silicon plastic seal was a different size and I had to modify it with the old seal so it would have a correct seal. Other then that, it works just fine.. just is shame it’s not automatic like the seller advertised on eBay, but it did get the old machine back in business for 70 bucks I spent..

Yep you are right. The part # for that sensor seal is R360-103.
