Forgot to put water in humidifier and got my skin slightly burnt

Post by Highlander » Thu Feb 14, 2019 1:04 am

Now I have red marks on my skin where the straps of my mask are, probably from the dried air flow. Is that common? I did not realize the humidifier is also important for the skin.

Probably not. The airflow doesn't flow along the straps.

Nope. It's so uncommon, it's never happened.

It's not.

You may just have the mask on too tightly - a lot of us have marks in the a.m. that go away in a short time (a wipe with an ice cube helps), but overtightening straps can even create leaks where they wouldn't otherwise occur so you may need to rethink if the mask actually fits properly, can be adjusted, needs changing altogether, or what... it's supposed to allow the silicone to inflate a bit on your face, not be pulled flat. Your humidifier connection makes no sense, but if you otherwise worry about whether you need a 4 setting, vs less at times or even more, experiment.
