Back on Cpap- not doing well.
Back on Cpap- not doing well.
Hello again. I had been doing ok on Cpap at a pressure of 16 but my dr switched me to bipap at 18/16. My AHIs went way up. So last night I was put back to my original set up at a steady 16. My AHI this morning was 16! Mostly OSAs. I’m getting scared as I had been doing well at that pressure before. My vendor can’t do anymore tweaking and I don’t see my Dr til March 7. Why is this happening?
Re: Back on Cpap- not doing well.
It's happening because 16 cm pressure can't hold the airway open.
You need more than 16 cm pressure.
Your AHI went way up when in auto mode because the starting pressure was way too low.
You need to try higher pressures and/or let the machine go higher in auto mode with a baseline higher that what was tried.. How much higher...no way to know until you try it.
