f20 elbow developed a whistling air leak last night

Post by Jake00 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 11:08 am

Has anyone else had this happen. I switched from an f10 to f20 a couple months ago, last night a whistling leak developed that was loud enough to wake my wife up.

I've confirmed its the elbow by hooking the old mask back up, no leaks...

On the topic of the f20, I'm not sure I really love this mask. I've tried the memory foam and regular version.... Maybe its because I used an F10 for 3 years previously... do you have any suggestions on other masks?

Lubricating the squeaky joint helped with a mask I had.
I used dental floss to work Vaseline into the gap.
Temporary fix--I changed to a different mask later.

You confirmed it's the elbow.... by switching out the entire mask?

The old mask (f10) uses a completely different elbow.

The old mask uses a completely *different mask!*

Your changing masks proves nothing about the elbow.

Maybe i'm referring to the wrong piece, but the two masks have different "elbows" The whistling is coming from the "exhaust " port
I also swapped out the cushion for the memory foam version same result

The "exhaust port" on the left one is all the little holes in a circle.

There is no "exhaust port" on the one on the right. Those big gaping holes are the anti-asphyxiation valves, and should be shut tight when the machine is on.

My f10 elbow will whistle and leak if it is not inserted and clipped into the mask completely. Check that.
