myair app

Post by carojae » Fri Jan 25, 2019 5:23 pm

My sleep clinic set me up with "myair" app to disect my AirSense10 sleep and nightly activity. I'm looking for help to understand it.

I log in daily to see what the app says about my breathing for the preceding night. Today my score is 85 out of a possible 100 points and the app is telling me I did excellent. However, my airsense 10 is telling me I had some major leaks highlighted on the machine display.

Anyway the app gives me a score of 5/20 for "adjust mask seal". What does this mean? I try to click and see what 5/20 means and there is no link.
Same on the next line: "4.5 events per hour 5/5" Again, what does 5/5 mean? I suppose this is simple to understand but I don't know. My sleep clinic is some 580 miles away from me.

What is frustrating is the app doesn't tell me what to do to correct what they tell me is wrong.

Thanks,

Jim

We ignore myair here, because it's useless when trying to improve your therapy.

Get sleepyhead, also your equipment profile is wrong.

The MyAir is like a Report Card...It really doesn't tell you much. You are better off going to the Advanced Sleep Report on your LCD screen. Go to your Clinical Menu and find Essentials in the Settings. Change the settings to PLUS. In the morning, go to your sleep report and you will get a lot of basic information about your previous night.

In MyAir, they assign points to each topic...mask seal is assigned 20 points. You got 5 out of 20...AHI gets 5 points if you are under 5..you had 4.5 so you got all 5 points. It's just a Report Card.

Do as Palerider suggested and get Sleepyhead. It will help you the most and you will get a lot of help from this forum.

I see.
Yeah I occasionally login to sleepyhead with my SD card. I'm not trying to rediscover myself here I just am curious on what these myair numbers mean.

Thanks,

Jim

Thank you.
My cpap display on my machine tells me I have leaking problems with the red face emoji. However, Myair app says I am doing excellent which is a conflicting message.
No biggie but It got me curious.

MyAir is more of a motivational tool, not a diagnostic one.

It breaks your score into 4 categories:

Usage hours: potential 70 points
You loose points depending how much time you used it under 7 hours.

Mask Seal: potential 20 points
Somewhat arbitrary assignment of points depending on how much leakage you got.

Events per hour: Potential 5 points
Arbitrary assignment of points depending on how many events you have.

Mask on/off: Potential 5 points
You lose a point for every time you take the mask off (actually turn machine off) beyond 2 times.

Add all them up to get a score out of 100. Try to improve that haven't met their potential point value.

In reality, usage ought to be 45%, AHI 45% and leak 10%.
