Condensation on the mask

I use an Airtouch f20 mask and I wake up and notice there is some condensation in the mask. I am not aware of it. I have the climate control to auto and the tube temperature to auto. I never get rainout either.
Is it a problem to have the condensation in the mask in the morning or does it make sense to switch to manual?

The fix is either warm up the ambient bedroom air...or go to manual with the hose air temp and warm it up a little more.
Auto doesn't always work so great if the bedroom is fairly cool.
I have the same issue....in my nasal pillows.
Unless it wakes me up giving me a cold shower out the vent holes or is noisy....I don't mess with it.
I get it sometimes even with my max 86 degrees hose air temp...and I don't really want to turn up the furnace.

If you have a short hose involved with your mask from the long hose to your mask...you could put some sort of hose cover on the short hose and it might be enough to stop the cooling down in the mask to the point of releasing the moisture.
That is what I would do if it woke me up or was real annoying...but so far it hasn't gotten that bad. Now it might this weekend....the Artic is moving in and going to be really cold and my bedroom is hard to heat.
I already have an old sock to use on the short hose just in case.

Oh...some people will tell you to just turn down the humidity setting but that may not work if the bulk of what is condensing is the moisture in your exhaled breath and your nasal mucosa might not like lower humidity.
I found out a long time ago that my nasal mucosa doesn't like drier air...so I deal with any condensation by warming up the air in some manner.

Thanks for responding Pugsy. It does not wake me up just see some condensation on the mask silicone area of the f20 in the morning but not on the microfiber cushion. I do keep my bedroom cool at 64 degrees,sleep better in a cool room.
If I decide to go manual would you recommend humidity of 4 and tube temperature to the maximum?

Actually I would keep the humidity at auto if that is what you are using and just change the hose air temp to manual. I don't like changing the humidity being delivered unless I have no choice or there is an urgent need.

I have no idea what temp though...it all involves ambient humidity and dew point and hose air temp....etc.
I can't wrap my head around it.
I pick a number and if that works fine and if not I increase it. That's how I ended up at 86 degrees now....as things got colder in the bedroom sometimes 86 is enough and sometimes not.

If it doesn't disturb you though...no urgent need to do anything...just wipe it out in the AM. It won't hurt you or the mask.

If you can understand this...it might help...my eyes just glassed over and I decided that pick a number worked well enough.

Climate control is the humidity. You can set it to Auto and then change the temperate to manual and that way only the hose air temp is changed.

Set my temperature to 85 degrees last night and still getting condensation on the inside of my f20 full face mask. I know the max temperature setting is 86 degrees which I will try tonight.
Any ideas if it still occurs ?

Probably some of the moisture in your own exhaled breath sort of tipping the scales.

It's physics in action.
You have to get the air temp inside the mask up to where the moisture isn't released.
If maximum hose air temp doesn't do the trick...then some options

1...short hose cozy if you are using a short hose...help keep the air warmer that makes it to the mask after it leaves the heated hose environment...may or may not help.

2...ignore if it doesn't wake you up

3...increase the bedroom ambient temp so the air in the mask doesn't cool as much....not a particularly attractive option when we like to sleep in cooler bedrooms...but it is an option.

4...use a different mask that doesn't contain so much space that needs to be kept warm...again maybe not an attractive option but an option none the less

5...reduce incoming humidity being delivered so that maybe with the combination of it and your own exhaled breath the scales are less likely to be tipped. May or may not help as I have seen people who don't even use a humidifier at all have a lot of mask condensation just from the moisture in their exhaled breath. Plus your nasal mucosa might not like being drier and give you some ugly symptoms.

6....use a mask liner and let the liner absorb the moisture

Me...unless it wakes me up or creates noise to wake hubby...I just ignore it.
