A little alcohol on the mask won't hurt it...and to be honest I am not so sure that a lot of alcohol would hurt it.
I wouldn't be afraid to use it myself.
But please...make sure the doctor sees you tomorrow. I have seen lots of shingles rashes...and yours sure is suspicious and if it is...the sooner you can address it the better your chances are of clearing it up with minimal repercussions... and if it isn't shingles...never hurts to know that sooner either.

Alcohol will absolutely NOT hurt the mask in any way.. (I mean, I wouldn't soak it in a vat of alcohol,Mskitty76 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 4:22 pmI was afraid to use alcohol because I didn't want to mess up my mask.i saw that some folks have used it with no problems, so I was planning on doing that once my face heals up.
Anybody that says alcohol will hurt a mask simply doesn't know what they're talking about.
You can go on the net and check any number of chemical manufacturers websites for chemical reactions with silicone, they all say that household alcohols don't affect silicone.

Re: Hi!
Just adding my vote to the "see your doctor" list. It looks like it may have started with multiple blisters, in which case, it would remind me of my own eruption of shingles. About the nasal pillows mask, it may be we could help you trouble shoot the problems you had with it. Personally, I wouldn't want anything further irritating or even touching that infected area.

Re: Hi!
Mind you, I'm not saying "don't see the doctor", but, since the FFM has left skin irritation in various places every time it was used, I figured there might be some kind of contact dermatitis caused by something on it.
That made me think of an irritant on the mask.Got switched to a full face mask that left pimples and a swollen ridge right between my eyebrows.... So I went back to the regular full face mask. Now I have a horrible rash on my right cheek

Re: Hi!
Sweetheart and I have now noticed a few new spots along where my mask touches my face. There's a thin line along where the straps touch that is red and kind of scabby. Nothing as bad as that one area.
The bad area started as a swollen, kind of numb spot. The next day, there were pimples (big ugly white heads). The next day, scabs and pimples. Now, it's almost all scabs.

Re: Hi!
As to the nasal pillow mask. When I use it, it ends up sliding off my nose (to one side or the other) almost like the head gear is WAY too big. It doesn't seem like I can get it snug enough. I may need to find a way to secure it behind my head, so it doesn't shift as much.

Re: Hi!
I'd clean that FFM *vigorously* with another (maybe what you use for cleaning your face normally) or, (personally) alcohol and or vinegar, to get everything you possibly could off of it.Mskitty76 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 10:02 pmSweetheart and I have now noticed a few new spots along where my mask touches my face. Then I'd probably cut a triangle of cloth to use as a makeshift mask liner, before I used it again.
