I am glad to hear that you are doing well. Am sitting here in the waiting room while my husband has his procedure done. Its nerve wracking. I am not good at waiting.
Crossing my fingers for him.

I can already tell I am going to have some good days and not so good days for a lot of reasons but hey...some good days is better than no good days.

Cold, damp, windy, rainy etc...has always made my back stuff worse. We went from the 60s to below freezing the last 3 days.
Winch chill is 24 right now...brrr...and I feel it in my bones. Turned off really cold last night.

I may not have any real good gauges for long term evaluations until spring and it warms up and dries up consistently.

Didn't sleep well last night but had nothing to do with pain...major insomnia due to worrying about my mom. That's another long story.
No time right now...gotta go get cleaned up and head to the hospital and see my mom.
I'm sorry to hear your mom is in the hospital. We are home and he feels good right now, but the medicine hasn't worn all the way off yet. :)

End of my eye-roll-inducing sappiness.
I think I just may have sprained my left eyeball with that one.... ouch!

Chronic pain is fatiguing...no matter what level of pain a person has. You just get so tired of hurting that you have zero energy to do anything and actually when we have arthritis type of issues we need to do stuff or the arthritis just gets worse. Another nasty cycle.
Then it screws up your sleep and you add another level to the fatigue from poor sleep quality.

Good luck Pugsy. I've had great morning scores, but my nighttime sleep was awful
Ive had chronic neck pain for several years. It's gotten worse, with migraine type headaches and dizziness. Around the same time started up with chronic fatigue. Going on for about 7-8 months.
I agree! Fatigue can arise from "PAIN". I oriniinally visited several type MD Specialist, Wanting to know more about fatigue syndrome. At the end of the day was given 13 possible causes, including Sleep Apnea. Oh well!

Actually coming up on 2 weeks day after tomorrow.

The jury is still out....it's really hard to judge anything right now especially since the weather has turned crappy and weather was always a big factor in how things felt and we knew that wasn't going to change much. One of the last things we talked about in the office was how much cold, wet, yucky weather causes inflammation in all those arthritic joints.

Not pain free by any means and good sleep it hit or miss but overall....I am having some "good" days and decent nights which is an improvement over none of either.
It's not going to be one of those overnight miracles that we all hope for....but I knew that going in...didn't stop me from hoping though.
Some things no improvement on...like if I sweep the floor or run the vacuum...guaranteed to hurt like hell before I get done.
Other things some improvement on...like walking in general...I can walk further before I start getting uncomfortable.

Overall though....definitely see enough improvement to be glad I did it. I am sleeping somewhat better...fewer arousals from pain and that always helps in terms of how the day goes even if I don't maybe get all the hours of sleep I really want.
Last night was a short night...not sure just how many hours but maybe 5 ish...woke up at 5 AM and simply couldn't go back to sleep.
Not so much because of pain or anything that I could put my finger on. I think more run of the mill insomnia from a combination of stress and a little more discomfort just because of the crappy weather. The bed of nails thing is still gone but I did have a little more discomfort just laying in bed this morning than I had been having the past week or so.

We couldn't really do anything to the SI joints themselves (sure wish we could) and that's always been my worst area to deal with.
Right now it's swollen and inflamed and very tender to touch if I run my hands across it. Sort of feels like an abscess or bad bruise feels when you push on it. Aspirin is the only sort of NSAID my stomach will tolerate and I just took some...so will see in a bit how it does.
Took my usual pain pill at 5 AM when I got up.

I am noticing that I need less in terms of the usual pain pills to keep me fairly comfortable...so that's a definite improvement.

So no miracles yet and I don't feel like running a marathon but I am feeling somewhat better in general than I would likely have felt prior to the procedure.

I know that last weekend before it turned crappy weather wise and we had sun and temps in the 60s...I actually felt quite decent and even piddled around outside a little. Of course I probably still had some cortisone running around in my body then...and it's gone now.
Couple more days of crappy weather in the forecast and then supposed to get some sun and warmer temps..like 50 maybe.

I am glad that I had the procedure...any improvement is better than none. It wasn't a fun procedure at all...hurt like hell but I am seeing improvement even if not the miracle I had hoped for.
I was told to allow a full 6 weeks before really taking a hard look at the results and I was also told to expect things to maybe be actually worse for little while until the trauma from the procedure healed up and they said about a month just for the healing of the burned areas. It's actually like any surgical procedure...4 to 6 weeks of healing afterwards...give the body a chance to heal up and regroup kind of thing.

There is never a good time to take my balance for granted.
I have always been awkward, tripping over air, it seems.
I find that I reach out for steady things as a habit now.
Maybe it's old age--or acute memory of all those scrapes I got as a tadpole.
Or finding legos the hard way.
Knock on wood--still mostly shuffling along where I once hopped with wild abandon.
