What's wrong with my Resmed Airsense 10 Auto-Set's climate control?

What's wrong with my machine?

Yesterday, I was having trouble sleeping. I noticed how dry my nose was. I checked my machine--a Resmed Airsense 10 auto-set--to check the humidity to make sure everything was okay. Previously, it's always been set to Climate Control Auto. Instead of being set to that, it was set to number four. I didn't set it to that; it must have set itself to number four. I entered the clinical menu using the clinical manual. The machine did not give me the option of setting to Climate Control Auto. I unplugged the machine and replaced the old ClimateLineAir tube with a new ClimateLineAir tube. The machine still didn't let me set the it to Climate Control Auto. I reset the machine to its defaults, then quickly set it to the correct pressure range and my preference. Again, I was not able to set it to automatic climate control. Finally, I just increased the humidity to number 8, the highest. I later changed that to number 7. My nose was no longer dry.

Does anyone know what's wrong with my machine? My machine is two or three years old. The DME provider that provided it to me no longer operates in my state, although I guess I could call them. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, does this matter? I certainly liked not having to worry about the climate controls before. Number seemed a bit too humid. Number seven may also be a bit high. Do I just set it to number six? Or is it worthwhile to get the thing working properly.

Make sure that the heated hose is attached and being recognized by the machine first.
If the machine isn't recognizing the heated hose then you won't get the option for Climate Control...you only get the humidity number options.
Heated hose must be attached AND recognized by the machine. The machine will let you know if it recognizes the hose.

Might have a bad heated hose...might have a bad power connection at the heated hose to machine connection....might have a problem inside the machine itself with heated hose connection stuff.

Make sure all those little connecting pins are clean and free of debris.

Thank, Pugsy. How does the machine let me know whether it recognizes the hose?

When you plug the hose in, I believe a message pops up.

Yep....it says "ClimateLine Air connected"....at least that is what I see with my AIrSense 10 machine. Just unplugged it and plugged it back in to see the exact wording.
And you have to be watching...it doesn't stay on the screen very long at all.

I just doing a follow-up to know what has happened. I was unable to get the machine to work following the advice given. I called the DME. The respiratory therapist on the other end of the line took out the same machine to help her understand what I was describing. She said that she was experiencing the same problem! She said that had never happened before.

A few minutes later, someone from repairs called. They're sending out a new machine. Although I had written that I received the machine two to three years ago, I had actually only received it 18 months ago. It's still under warranty.

This is an interesting outcome.

My machine is recognising the hose in the settings and then after I start using it disappearing and going to the default humidity level 4.

I disconnect, reconnect and it will continue.

I think it has been happening over the past week.

I am thinking about whether I try a new hose or take it back(heaps of warranty left)

Very strange thing to just start happening.
