Strange Cpap results.
Hello all, I'm a 59-year-old retired male with sleep apnea. My study showed 48 events per hour. I also suffer from depression and take Effexor for that, at the moment that is the only medication I am taking. When I use my CPAP my Events per hour goes to around 4 when I first got it I didn't have any remarkable side effects in the morning. The issue I'm having started to pop up once in a while but now it is pretty much every time I use the CPAP. When I wake up I feel almost drunk, it's hard to describe but I guess drunk or drunk/extremely jittery almost like you would imagine someone on speed would feel. It has gotten to the point where I don't use it anymore because the effects are too bothersome, it can take hours to get feeling more normal again. I know this is probably a pretty strange thing but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out this thread, and post your info and a chart. Nobody will really be able to tell you much of anything without specific information.

I wouldn't have any idea why you would feel that way from Cpap, but I guess there could be a connection. As before,....more info is going to be necessary on your end.

welcome to the zoo! please do as mark asks and read that thread. we are each of us different, just enough so, that we react slightly differently to cpap therapy.WeTrudgeOn wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 9:48 amHello all, I'm a 59-year-old retired male with sleep apnea. one of the things among many that the experts here(i'm NOT one!) will need to know is just what those events are made up of. so give them the information they need and watch the advice flow!
good luck.

Since I started last March I'd been feeling extremely weird too. I I don't get the drunk feeling unless I know I had a terrible night with very high AHI. I do however have symptoms of "jittery" or "anxiousness". I have no idea where that would come from and I"m not on any meds. I haven't been able to pin it down to anything, but it happened when I started using CPAP. A doctor tried to give me metformin at the same time, but I had to stop taking that and its been months now.
