Lost sim card

Post by John01 » Sat Jan 05, 2019 8:26 am

I have a reamed S9 and lost my SIM card and need the read out for my dot physical. Is there somewhere I can get a new one. Also does the machine gather the info or is it only on the SIM card

Hi John01,

You can start by not calling it a 'SIM card'. :)

SIM stands for 'Subscriber Identity Module' and it's what goes inside a mobile phone. It tells the mobile phone company who you are.

What you're looking for is an SD card. Try Walmart.

Detailed data files go directly to the SD card but the machine does store enough summary data on it (and will write that data to a new blank card) to satisfy any DOT requirements.

Any generic cheap SD card will work. Doesn't have to have a ResMed sticker on it.
I am using a WalMart bought Sandisk SD card in my machine because I broke the other one.

Yes, any SD card will do. Best to get 4GB or less, since most machines won't handle more anyhow.

When you put a fresh one in, six months of back data will be loaded, or at least that's what I was told.

If you have to go in person, you probably have the option of bringing in the machine.

Incorrect information.
The machines can handle huge capacity cards...they just don't need that much but smaller capacity cards are getting hard to find and actually cost more than than the larger capacity.
Some people are using 64 GB cards...not a problem.
I am using an 8 GB Sandisk card I got from WalMart a couple of years ago....not a problem.
Last I looked...16 GB was the smallest available and I am quite sure it would also work just fine.

The machines actually only probably need at most 2 GB size...but it hurts nothing to use a larger size since smaller cards are getting so hard to find.

you can also use a mini sd card like the one in your phone, with the adapter of course.

I popped a 64 gig SDXC card into my S9 a while back, just to see what would happen... it wiped the format, and reformatted the card to a lower capacity (50 something gig) ... but it was happy with it.

As usual, treat DH like a DME, carefully and critically examine everything that he says.

My sd card broke and I was able to drop by a local Apria office (my DME provider) and they gave me a new sd card at no cost.

Sometimes they accidentally hire a decent human being . . .
