Just received first electric bill using the Medical Baseline

If XPAP is life support equiptment, the state should pay for food, heat transportation to the drug store to buy a bandaid, even my cable bill (so I have something to pass time in my life). It's just another sign the people that run california are their worst enemy. Jim

My daughter has both obstructive apnea and central. When the pulmonary doctor added oxygen, our electric bill went up at least $30. The concentrator uses quite a bit of electricity. It put us into tier 3. We live in California. I'm applying for a higher ceiling on our tier 1.

Is it life support? That's a good question! The BIPAP keeps her breathing! That's a good thing! You all know the other benefits of your CPAP or BIPAP.

The oxygen concentrator might qualify.
Here, they don't even get priority power restoration.
Of course, they could push you into tank oxygen.

CPAP is not a life support system. A APNEA monitor is. CPAP is considered therapy to help with airflow, not life sustaining. An apnea monitor alarms when the breathing stops and monitors the heart rate as well. Used for more critical need patients.

Electric rates vary greatly, depending on your location, and public or private ownership of the utility.
There are no concessions where I live, but our electricity is among the lowest in the nation.
We have fought repeatedly to keep our electric system PUBLIC.
Sometimes a private company will offer medical rates, to create the illusion that they are human beings.
If you can get it, TAKE IT.
