Prescriptions
Federal law requires we have a valid prescription on file before shipping your mask, machine and/or humidifier. To fulfill the requirement, please submit a script with a future expiration date, written for "lifetime need", or "99 months". As long as the prescription has these prerequisites, you can purchase CPAP equipment. -- https://www.cpap.com/cpap-faq/Prescriptions
I am not affiliated with them, but I buy from them. In fact I just bought the "for her" model less than two weeks ago. I prefer the look of the regular, have found that I do better in the regular algorithm rather than the "for her" algorithm, but I like having the extra "for her" algorithm available. I personally do not find the looks of the "for her" model to be distracting or especially feminine, but then I keep my machine on a low shelf where it is not especially visible anyway.

Welcome.

This sleep report was from this spring, so I imagine frustration about sleep is what's making you reconsider CPAP even though it's below the required 5 for insurance purposes. That's got to be frustrating. Maybe it can't hurt to try to button down mild sleep disordered breathing. If you decide to do so, I'm pretty sure a lot of folks here would agree with Pugsy and Granny on the AirSense 10 AutoSet. As to full face or nasal, well that's a personal consideration that depends entirely on whether you mouth leak and how you're willing to manage it if you do. It's hard to know until you're supine, sleeping and geared up. You may want to give both full face and nasal style masks a try. May I suggest either a Simplus Full Face or an AirFit P10. Both are highly rated on cpap.com.

However, you relate a number of symptoms that may be exacerbated by SDB, but may be due to other considerations. Clearly Sp02 looks good. If you haven't already, I wonder if you shouldn't follow up with your doctor's recommendation to get an MRI of your upper back, or maybe even a more comprehensive fMRI. I don't know if it's possible to do an fMRI during sleep considering how loud MRI machines are.

It can certainly be trying when doctors are continually unable to diagnose clearly what is happening. I hope you find the doctor that will be able to bring clarity to your situation.

I am that guy who went undiagnosed since childhood for sleep apnea for 40 years. As a child I always felt like I wasn't getting enough air or like I was drowning during sleep. I don't snore, so a sleep test was never considered. I'm pretty sure I've suffered brain damage because of it. In my case, SP02 suffers drastically without CPAP. Because this is not the case with you, I have to wonder if other elements remain hidden in your story since diagnoses so far have not been elucidative.

The scan of the condensed graphs is nearly illegible. If you're inclined, it might be worth it to rescan that page with slightly higher contrast for the final jpeg.

Best of luck and happy new year!

Chris

The for her model has leaves on it...but you can get a new different color face plate for $20 if the leaves bug you...and it's easily swapped out.

Here's what the for Her model looks like
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... r-humidair

Here's what the regular model looks like
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... t-humidair

and here's the face place choices...black or silver
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... -faceplate

The for Her model....those other 2 modes ...cpap and the regular apap mode....are the exact same modes as the regular AutoSet machine has. They aren't special in any way for women.

The for Her mode is the only thing special for women but I think that ResMed shot themselves in the foot targeting women for that mode. I use it..and there's nothing about it that wouldn't also maybe benefit a guy.

UARS patients typically tend to be sort of sensitive to things that the rest of us aren't maybe so sensitive to.
The slightly gentler way of doing things with the special for Her mode might be of benefit to someone who is maybe a little more sensitive to stuff. I don't know for sure just how much (if any) help that mode might offer a UARS patient but in my mind when fighting something I want as many options available in my arsenal as possible and having that additional mode available is sure worth having since it doesn't really cost anything extra.

Oh...my husband...he has seen the leaves model and we've also changed the face plate on a machine that went to Australia and the guy was freaked out over the leaves...so he got the black face plate.
My husband says he doesn't see the big deal with the leaves himself.

And no...there is no other difference...no purple screens or anything the least bit feminine about it.
Most people won't even know the model name unless they read the tiny letters on the front lower right corner of the machine.

If you are going to war....you want as much ammo as possible for your money just in case you might need it. Now you may not need it but it is always better to have something and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Also, is the "for Her" model going to have any direct indications that it is for a lady? I don't think it is going to be pink or anything, for instance. Probably just a little logo on it and the screen lighting seems to be a shade of purple or something vs what looks like blue for a guy. Is that the only difference?

If the "for Her" has a setting that is extra...will the other two "for Her" settings be as strong as the regular model? It sounds like I may need to be open for more pressure while also trying lighter pressures at first to see. Just want to make sure that both are on-par with the same strength capabilities when it comes to the higher pressure settings, if needed.
i'm a man. i have the "for her" model. here's a pic-

IMG_0093.JPG
is that just ridiculously feminine?   seriously, that's the only thing that is different appearance-wise. just some embossed leaves!

within the machine itself, there is a setting "for her" along with "autoset" and "cpap". i have no idea what the "for her" mode does. i set it to "autoset" and away i go.

but my favorite setting is "soft" mode. it cured my aerophagia and that alone helped me to get good therapy.

all in all, i'd certainly recommend it.

btw, welcome to the forum. i have no doubt that you will be able to adjust to the therapy.

good luck!

ETA- i see pugsy was typing while i was. oh well, at least i gave you a pic.

On CPAP.com, it looks like the machine is light pink. Yours looks more off white.

I'd absolutely buy the Totoro version.
Seriously, Hiyao Miyazaki's anime would be cool on any cpap machine.
If I'm going to have a machine, why not give me cover design capability?
Stick your grandkid's drawing on your XPAP? Heck yeah.

I guess the image at cpap.com does look a bit pink but it's not pink at all....so all you guys thinking pink...it's not pink. It's off white with gray leaves.

Where did you get that skin? That's cool.

I used Adobe Fireworks to make Zonker's machine look like it's got Totoro on it. :)
As a horticulturist, I'd be good with foliage. Goals...

Oh man, do I ever need to learn how to do some fun, cool stuff with my computer besides typing all day.
There's so much out there available that I have no time to play with.

Speaking of growing things...I do straw bale gardening and old straw bales go to the raised bed to further decompose and grow potatoes and stuff like that in. There's one bug that I can't seem to eliminate and I don't know it's name. When I was a kid we used to call them stink bugs but I don't think that's a real name and might not even be what I am seeing. It's the only bug I can't seem to keep away and mainly in the raised bed. Care to help me figure out what it is and how to ward him off? When he comes for a visit he is nasty and always brings a boatload of his hungry friends.

Maybe your monitor needs adjustment. Look up the the s9 for her.

Not just his monitor...mine also. A faint hint of pink but nothing like the hideous S9 for Her pink.

That's a real name. Browse "brown marmorated stink bug". And, they do stink!
