I'M wanting to get away from dreammapper, any advice?
I'M wanting to get away from dreammapper, any advice?
I wish I could be so done with dream mapper, does anybody know if there's a reliable app to get my data from,
From the software to the tech support dream mapper
has got me to have no confidence in them, I have a commercial drivers license and when my Bluetooth module and even my regular module worked good my days just went better/ alot better mood,
I have never been tired and have never had any symptoms of sleep apnea (except snoring), I went in and out of boredom after I had a surgery and time off work and got checked for sleep apnea and found out that I have it so I am being forced to use this now so it is already a little bit stressful being forced into this when I did it myself and now when this software and hardware is not working correctly I am really kicking myself in the butt.
Any tips would be highly appreciated.
Thanks, Doug

What exactly is Dreammapper not doing?
You can run "sleepyhead", but I am not sure about the ability for it to read from bluetooth. At least it is independent from manufacturers.

As a user of Dreammapper I can safely say it is not helpful. And it's buggy. Read the instructions for installing and using Sleepyhead. It gives you much better data. I like Sleepyhead much better.
If you really want to stay away from having to take the SD card in and out, search for the threads on wireless or wifi SD cards. I haven't tried it yet, but other users love it. You will still use Sleepyhead software with it.

I don't know anything about the machine you have beyond the knowledge that it is obviously a Phillip Respironics machine (since that's the only brand that support Dreammapper).
If you'e using a phone, I don't think you can use sleepyhead since I don't believe that Sleepyhead supports bluetooth. If you're using a pad, a laptop, or a desktop you will need to remove the card from your machine and read it into your device to download data.
I do recommend Sleepyhead. It tells you a lot more that Dreammapper. Also, it resides on your desktop/laptop/pad, unlike Dreammapper in which your data resides on the manufacturer's server.

I use DreamMapper daily and it is very helpful as it gives me a breakdown of my AHI, hours used and mask fit. I do use SleepyHead but unless something seems to be going wrong I only download the data about once a month.

Doug:
Could you help us understand what exact problem you are trying to address?
Most compliance tracking (whether DME/insurance or provider) with newer machines is now done (in the US) via cell modem. The bluetooth is typically only for your use on a phone. And you typically have a SD card as well.
Is your goal is just a quick check of your AHI each day? (You could do this via the menus, bluetooth, or using the SD card).
Is your goal making sure your provider has the data on file for some DOT purpose (likely via cell modem or SD card)?
Is your goal better tracking how effective your treatment is (likely via the SD card using sleepyhead)?

Are you saying that your CDL employer requires that your upload your data to some sort of cpap compliance officer on a regular basis via bluetooth?
Is the problem that your software isn't performing your compliance check, or is it that your machine is not giving you proper therapy?

I use both the Dreammapper app and the Sleepyhead program. My DreamStation uses a cell modem through it's micro card to communicate and upload my data daily to my provider and I use the Bluetooth mode for the data on my phone. I use Sleepyhead because it provides much more in depth statistics on my apnea therapy, even though the data for Sleepyhead is taken from my Dreamstation card. Both work fine, but the Dreammapper data is more limited.

Thanks! That clears up a lot.wrfabus wrote: ↑Sun Dec 30, 2018 2:39 pmI use both the Dreammapper app and the Sleepyhead program. - Dreammapper is proprietary. It's unlikely there is another easy simple bluetooth upload methodology provided by an open-source coder. If you're interested and code-curious, why not develop something yourself?
- Sleepyhead is opensource and has been adapted by its developer JediMark to be a sort of Swiss Army Knife of data-perusal for just about every popular sleep apnea therapy machine for patients interested in taking control of their therapy. To my knowledge it does not connect to proprietary cloud-based HIPAA-compliant patient data servers. It's unlikely the doctor's office would want to handle open-source data because the proprietary Dreammapper software likely has security/custody-integrity considerations with regards to HIPAA, etc., that companies like Resmed and Respironics may not prefer to divulge to open source coders for fear of security breach.
- Unless your doctor will allow you to submit a data image of your SD card, you're probably stuck sending via bluetooth using Dreammapper. Submitting a data image would be considerably more time-consuming.
- If your CDL does not require you to send data every day, and your pressures and leaks are buttoned down and you're comfortable with your DreamStation system, you might consider sending it weekly, monthly or even less often. Just put it on a calendar reminder so you don't get blessed out by your "compliance officer".
- If they're only looking for compliance data, I suspect you could text them the compliance code from your machine's LCD interface weekly, monthly, etc. But again it may not be as easy as Dreammapper simply doing it for you.
