After a visit to my physician, I have in hand a prescription to replace my CPAP. After talking with my local DME, then checking prices with CPAP.com, I'm going to be better to just buy out of pocket and skip insurance.
I wanted to buy the Resmed Pro 2 C-Flex. Now that it will be out of pocket, my question is this. Is the information gathered by having the software card (and later the card reader and software) worth the extra price difference. I've had the machine I use now since 1993 and it's at a constant 11cm. I'm comfortable sleeping at night, but just curious if the data given by the machine would make any difference in my therapy?
Thanks for any Suggestions

Resmed Pro 2 & Software Cards, worth it?
The Pro 2 is an excellent machine. I've had mine for almost 2 years. It collects all the important data to monitor your therapy. It's worth it.

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, Respironics makes the RemStar Pro 2 with C-Flex.dnelms wrote:Resmed Pro 2 C-Flex
Yes it's the Respironics... just mistyped.
Just to clarify... I'm not questioning the machine or it's worth, but whether paying the additional cost for the Pro 2 so it will have the card and data collection? Since this is out of pocket, I'd like to know how the data will benefit me any more than just the same model without the card. Will having this data change the way I use CPAP any differently than I have the last 14 years? Worth the extra $$$?

You've been using CPAP for 14 years without the being able to see if it set up the best for you, just by taking the words of others. I say you deserve better. If I were you I would get the Remstar APAP, and the software and reader, maybe you could get better treatment for yourself. After 14 years at it, you deserve the best, you have earned it. Considering it your health the extra cost is cheap. Jim
Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!
