Almost two months and still tired

Post by RobinRM » Wed Dec 26, 2018 1:07 pm

I've been using ResMed Air sense for almost 2 months, currently using the F-30 mask. This is my 3rd mask. Things are somewhat better...no more headache upon waking. But I am still so incredibly tired. Is this normal? Anyone else have this issue at this point in their cpap use but did have improvement over a longer time? I'm becoming a bit depressed thinking this is as good as it's going to get. I've had blood work done (last December and again in October)...thyroid is good.

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like your therapy is not working well for you. First thing to do is go to this link: viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html

There are directions here on how to post the information we need to help you maximize your therapy. Some people don't get immediate feel good results when starting therapy. I was one of those people. It took about three months before I started noticing changes in how I felt. One day, it dawned on me that I could sit and read without falling asleep, and I could watch a mover on the TV without missing half of it. One of the biggest problems is doctors say anything that reduces your AHI to 5 or less is properly treated. Many of us here believe sleep apnea is not well treated unless the AHI is less than 1.

How many hours of real sleep are you averaging?
Are those hours fragmented by a lot of wake ups?
Do you take any medication of any kind? If so, what?

hi robin and welcome to the forum! i hope that you will take the time to do as okie bipap suggests and read the link he provided.

please bare in mind that each of us are our own little snowflakes. we are unique to some extent in how we react to our therapy. what works for me may not necessarily work for thee. so the experts here (i'm NOT one!) will need more information so that they can offer helpful advice.

right up front, you need to know that it takes time for the benefits of cpap to present themselves. there is no set time as to when it all starts to happen. and the changes can be subtle.

do hang in there, it DOES get better. you can do this.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
