What's the difference between Cpap, BiPaps, etc?

Post by inpjs24 » Wed Feb 14, 2007 1:54 am

I was checking out Cpap.com at the different types of machines and mask. What is the difference between Cpap, Bipaps, Vpaps and Bilevels? I am newly diagnosed with Apnea and will be getting my perscription today for my equipment and want to learn as much as possible about what's out there for my options.

I have to say, this forum has taught me so much already and I wanted to thank all of you who view this message who have posted any of their knowledge to this forum.

I'm nervous but yet excited to wake up for a change feeling alert and energetic like I used to two and a half years ago.

Do your best to get an Auto or at least a machine that records data so you can see what's going on.

Make sure you actually get your script (not a promise that the doc will fax to "the" DME.

That DME may not be your choice or you may want to go online or even get a back up machine at a later date...

Copies of sleep studies should also be kept in your home files.
