I too am looking forward to trying the P10; I'll let ya know how it goes. In the meantime, had my best night so far. Woke up feeling pretty good this morning and that's lasted all day so far. I knew my AHI had to confirm how I felt and I was right (this time anyway).

*typically* when you have a resprionics sitting there with long flat pressure lines, you should bump the min pressure a cm or two.

Thanks; I didn't know that. A bump up to 8 is planned for next week though; working my way up to 9 or so depending on how things go.

When the machine is making those little pressure spikes, that's when your breathing is the most regular and smooth, when it's irregular, the machine sits there and does nothing.. (which is one of the reasons I don't like Respironics).

Fair enough; I was not given a choice of machine so maybe it's a blessing that I don't know what I'm missing.

DMEs tend to take advantage of people.

I felt I had adjusted well to a min pressure of 7 so I bumped it up to 8 last night and as expected, a slight increase in AHI but I tolerated it and slept quite well. Also a correction to my therapy history, I thought I had turned a-flex off but it's actually still set to 1. I was wondering though, a little more than a month into therapy and I feel my sleep is still improving but I feel like I'm far more sleepy at bedtime and wake up just as tired as before therapy. Is this normal when starting out and will it improve as time passes and my therapy gets dialled in? Anyway...here's the data from last night.

I will be really interested to see how you do with the nasal pillows you have coming.
You obviously need more pressure and more pressure is a problem for you.
You might get lucky and find that you don't need as much pressure with the nasal pillows as you do with the FFM.
It can happen...so do give the pillows an extra effort to make them work. They might make a world of difference in your results. Certainly worth trying. I have known people to be able to get by with 2 to 4 cm less and get better results when going to nasal pillow mask.
Received my P10 today so I'm going to trial it starting tonight; actually looking forward to it. I'm going to leave my pressure/flex settings as is and see how it goes. Please confirm that I should set the mask X setting to off as that is specific to Respironics masks? Thanks.

I thought I was tired before I started therapy a year ago, but the first month I learned a whole new level of tired. I'm very sensitive to changes in anything involving sleeping so it took some time to get used to everything. After about two months, I for the first time in my life actually started getting up in the morning feeling like I rested vs feeling worse than when I went to bed so hopefully it will get better for you as well. Now a year later I'm still adjusting to it and still making changes, but I'm better off than I was pre therapy.

Thanks for the insight. I will continue to have patience and look forward to the day when I wake up refreshed. In the meantime, I have already noticed improvements in other areas so I have no doubt that the therapy is working.

One of the craziest things for me has been that I have never been a morning person and never took a shower in the morning, always in the evening. Now I take one every morning and am totally awake. Another thing that changed is that I actually get tired in the evening now. These two things are totally life changing because I used to stay up until about midnight to 1 AM before going to bed because I'd get a burst of energy around 9-10pm and feel great.

I've turned my life upside down and it kinda annoys my wife too because the mornings used to be her time by herself and now I'm in the way LOL.

First night was a little rough as expected but I do appreciate the minimal design of the P10, the diffused vent, and the fit is excellent as well. Far less leak issues than with the Amara View. Slept solid for about 3 hours and then tossed and turned the rest of the night which is on the worse side of normal for me but as I adjust to a change that goes up to about 4-5 hours decent sleep. I'll post SH graphs when I get home from work later today.

As promised; the first one is my last night with the Amara View and the second one is my first night with the P10. Looking like I may still need to bump up my minimum pressure to 8.5 or 9 but I want take a week or two to adjust to the new mask first. Thoughts?

By a "rough" night with the P10 did you have a lot of wake ups for various reasons?
If you did that AHI might be somewhat elevated do to SWJ or false positives. If that's the case I would give yourself at least a couple more nights using it before changing the pressure.

Now if you are sleeping soundly for the most part and the obstructive stuff (everything except the CA/centrals) are still elevated then yes...more minimum pressure.

Yeah, I still tend to sleep for a few hours only and then constantly wake up, roll over, sleep, wake up, roll over, roll over, roll over, sleep...you get the gist. With the exception of the few <5 AHI nights I have had which were great nights by comparison, this is par for me since starting therapy.
