Newbie's first SH screenshot
Newbie's first SH screenshot
After a great deal of mucking about I finally got a screenshot. Suggestions and comments would be appreciated. This is last nights and I was awake from about 5:30 on so the rest is not representative. My leak rate is obviously too high.
I really like the Dreamwear Nasal mask but find I get very inconsistent leak performance. Sometimes it is very good, sometimes awful. it is by far the most comfortable of the masks I have tried. The Dreamwear full face might be an option but my wife finds it much too noisy (she is very sensitive to sound).
Again, comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Newbie's first SH screenshot
Your large leak doesn't look all that bad. Your large leaks were less than 10% of the night. You bumped up against the max a couple of times. I would recommend more minimum pressue. Perhaps 10 cm. If that is too much of a jump for you, tty 9 for a few nights, then go on to 10. Once you get your minimum pressure up, you may cut off some of the events that are raising your pressure, and the 15 maximum my be just fine. Others will probably say raise the max, but I would wait to see what raising the minimum will do for you.

I agree with raising your minimum pressure. Many of the leaks could be from exhaling through your mouth.....try taping for a few nights to see if the leaks improve.

Re: Newbie's first SH screenshot
I’ll try raising the minimum pressure to 9 or10 cm. What is “taping”?
Thank you for your suggestions.

Re: Newbie's first SH screenshot
Many people put a piece of tape across their mouth at night in order to keep air from leaking from their mouth. Some run the tape vertically, and other horizontally.

If my mouth were completed taped I would feel like I was being abducted and claustrophobic.

Couple things.. 1) do not shrink the image, post a full size, full res picture, and let the forum worry about making it fit. When you shrink it, it makes it hard to read the numbers and any detail.ashaper wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 12:30 pmAfter a great deal of mucking about I finally got a screenshot. 2) I agree on raising the pressure, I'd say min 10, max 20.

Re: Newbie's first SH screenshot
Actually if those early big leaks didn't wake you up I would let them slide.
I have had worse and let them slide and there's no guarantee that they were related to mouth being open anyway.
They could easily be mask movement leaks.
The stuff that happened after 5:30 ish...toss out the window because you were awake for most of it.

Re: Newbie's first SH screenshot
Increased min pressure from 8 to 9cm. Still have issues with leaks and mouth breathing and, I think, APH. Wife is very noise sensitive and wakes up when she hears a big leak or mouth breathing.
