According to the doctor i had 7 episodes an hour and an oxygen level drop of 84%. As far as I know, doctor has not specified which mchine but he told me to have between 4-10 pressure.
Thank you for your insightful comments
Get copies for your records of your prescription and your study summary (probably one page). It's your legal right.

Trust me, I'm 10% as sharp as I use to be.
But, that's not permanent. Sleep and breathe 7 or 8 hours per night for a week and you will start to be sharp again.
+1

to the OP, you won't believe what a difference it's going to make once you get your therapy dialed in and start sleeping properly!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Before becoming a hosehead, I huge impairments to thinking, verbal fluency (not written, weird), short-term memory. My exhaustion made even simple stuff challenging. I was not able to read Scientific American articles and make sense of what I was reading. A tech writer for huge/AI systems, I was afraid I was going to lose my job because it just got so bad. I am in the severe category. After a month or so, I began to notice improvements that continued for the first few years. I'd say 95% improved from before treatment.

I also take a gazillion supplements for brain, inflammation, stress, like adaptogens, omega 3 EFAs, astaxathin, turmeric, ubiquenol, vit D, etcetera.

Thank you for sharing, I'm having the worst time of my life. I never felt so hopeless like this because I always had faith that there is always a better tomorrow. I don't know how to tackle this anymore, please send prayers guys. This is my only way to vent off because i have no one but God.

Yourself.

You are the only one that matters at this point.

Find out exactly which model the DME is planning to supply. Then, run it through this thread for advice. Don't pick up a machine before you know exactly what you are getting.

You want a full data capable auto adjusting machine. The two most popular brands are Philips Responics and Resmed. If you get a Philips machine, you want the Dream Station auto. If you get the Resmed machine, you want the Air Sense Auto, or the Air Sense Auto for Her. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY RESMED MACHINE THAT SAYS AIR START ON IT. These are basic machines with very limited data available on them.

I had been snoring and waking up gasping for air several times a night for an entire year and was putting off going to the doctor until I turned 60 which would be this December 22. What led me to go the doctor immediately was waking up one morning and thinking I had a stroke or was quickly developing dementia. I think it was gradual but just came to a head one day. I had a hard time saying some of my words correctly, brain fog, short term memory loss, forgetfulness and was repeating myself sometimes, etc.… I was diagnosed with moderated OSA 7 months ago. Fast forward 4 months after cpap therapy and I have no problems at all. I started getting better 2 months after therapy, but the real breakthrough was at the 4-month mark. I promise you it will get better even though it might not seem like it as it just takes time. It might take a little longer because your symptoms have been going on longer, but it will happen. I know it’s somewhat unusual for cognitive abilities to be so profoundly affected for both you and me, but everyone is different. The key is continuing to use the cpap every night to get better. In my opinion, there is no choice as I work in a dementia unit and see the suffering from diseases that can develop from not using cpap. For example, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, high blood pressure, etc.… On a side note I balked at using nasal pillows at first but after I broke down and started using them, my AHI numbers went down from in the mid to upper 2 range to the 1 and under range and It seemed like my symptoms improved more quickly. They didn’t bother me at all. I believe you are getting better therapy with more direct air flow with the pillows but it’s just my theory. Again, YOU WILL GET BETTER! Good luck to you and by springtime you will feel like a new person and hopefully go back and get your degree.

Yes i believe so. Has a modem so doctor can monitor my activity remotely. I don't know what to make of todays experience. Woke up several times but I breath more deeply than I use to. Slight improvement in my brain fog but still feel sleepy this afternoon.

Does it say Auto on the machine? The model number is DSX500T11. If you have to turn the machine upside down to see the tag, make sure to first empty the humidifier tank.
