New Patient with apnea syndrome
Hello all, my name is John and I'm from Greece.I was experiencing tiredness in the last years (yes the last 3 years) and recently heard someone with the same symptoms and told me about apnea syndrome.I did a sleep study and showed up a lot of apnea events. The problem is that I bought the mask and the machine but I still experience tiredness for 1-2 hours during the day and have to go to sleep for some time. This is happening during my work. What should I do next? Does anyone have used the machine and mask and still have some symptoms of apnea. Im desperate.

You need to provide more information about yourself.
What machine did you buy?
What mask?
What was the number of apnea events per hour?
What pressure(s) were you given for your treatment.
Are you leaking air from the mask interface? Do you wake up with a dry mouth?

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
me,too!
John,
I've had my machine for 45 days and I'm still trying to get it right.
I sure feel for you.
I feel BETTER, but far from perfect.

Today I bent the truth to be kind, and I have no regrets; for I am far surer of what is kind, than I am of what is true.

apnea
2 nights is not nearly enough time.
You need much longer in many cases, although many have immediate and dramatic benefit.
You have an excellent machine and fortunate to have and APAP instead of a cpap.
be patient and give it time.
In many cases, a proper mask is more important than the machine.
I personally prefer the Breeze mask.
Be patient and read many postings here. Read the links in the yellow light bulb.

John, first the dry throat may be due to your mouth opening when you sleep, which can be treated (more later), or it can be due to dry air, in which case you need to use the humidifier that should have come with your machine - ask your doctor or the people you got the machine from about the humidifier (just a little attached box that you fill with distilled water at night to make using Cpap less drying. If you are opening your mouth, however, there are a few answers (though I would try the humidifier first unless your wife tells you that you open your mouth when you sleep!). You can buy a 'full face' mask that not only goes over your nose, but also covers your mouth, so the Cpap air will go into your nose and mouth (and the CO2 usually vents from a place just above your nose). OR you can try what a lot of us do before getting another mask, and that is to use special tape (micropore, transpore, 1 inch wide) used to hold bandages on, for your mouth (just 1-2 inches across your mouth) because while some companies provide a chin strap (to go under your chin and supposedly keep your mouth closed) lips do open and allow air out anyway. And no, two nights is not nearly long enough to feel differently, though hopefully your nasal mask does not allow little leaks anywhere, and if it does, then you need either a different size or a different mask.

well I bought a DevilBiss autoadjust CPAP machine and an ultra mirage mask from RESmed which is represented in UK and Greece.
I had about 40 apneas events during "normal" sleep.
I'm using the mask for 2 nights.
and Im allready having a dry throat whet I get up in the morning.
40 apnea events is a lot. I suspect it is because you are breathing through your mouth and thats why the throat feels dry. After a few weeks, if things don't improve, you might want to try the Hybrid mask. It delivers CPAP therapy through both your nose and mouth but does not leak as much as other Full Face masks. I don't know if the Hybrid is sold in Europe but its worth finding out.

It's great that you found out you have OSA because now you can treat it. It's also good that you found your way to this forum because you'll get a lot of answers and support here.
It does sound like you may be mouth breathing. Here are three threads you could read on mouth breathing.

Be encouraged that you will have teething problems but if you persevere you will overcome them. It can takes months to get everything sorted out, but at least you're on the right track.
Good luck
Peter
